  Direct image studio is a more than excellent place to record! With top of the line gear and a plethora of knowledge in using it, Kenny Royster is mixing machine. Also being a singer himself and having studied with the best of the best Kenny’s vocal coaching is something of a genius! I highly recommend Kenny Royster and Direct Image Studio for all of your recording and mixing!

  Kenny Royster of Direct Image Studio has a rare set of technical and musical skills as well as personal traits that set him apart as one of the best audio recording and mixing engineers/producers in the world. Kenny has great ears (did I mention GREAT ears?!), great gear (totally current and top-of-the-line as well as really cool, tube vintage stuff), uses A-list studio musicians for sessions. Kenny intimately understands the roles of each instrument and how musical parts and frequencies fit together like a puzzle (he's also an accomplished musician). But the icing on the cake? He's a really great studio vocal coach. He can get the best possible performance out of you every time and he does it in a way that makes you feel good about getting better (not bad about not being perfect the first time). He has wonderful tips about getting your voice to really resonate, for getting your energy levels to match the intensity of the song, and for helping you bring the lyrics to life. And that's absolutely priceless. As a diverse singer/songwriter, I really appreciate that Kenny understands what makes songs tick in every genre (he's a very talented songwriter) and with all types of production (he's recorded/mixed/produced pretty much every genre imaginable from LA to Nashville). But I believe, ultimately, it's his drive for excellence that sets him apart. He has a work ethic comparable to an athlete training for the Olympics. Given his drive, musicality, intelligence, and heart, it's no wonder Kenny is so sought-after. He's a Nashville treasure. Cheers, Gwen Holt

  Unbelievable! I have been writing songs and singing professionally for 20 years. Moments into my work in Direct Image Studio with Kenny I had a new perspective on writing and singing. My songs and my performance of them are a testimony to what Kenny Royster and Direct Image Studio has to offer. I learned so much in such a short time. The things Kenny taught me were easy to apply and will stick with me for the rest of my career! I felt right at home in his studio and in his presence. He was very patient with me and respectful to my style and my songs. He helped me enhance both without disrupting the integrity of either. I left the studio a better writer and a better singer than I was when I showed up. Kenny is very professional and extremely fast at his job. But what would you expect after the massive amount songs he has recorded and the years of experience at it? With the highest quality recording equipment available, the best musicians the industry has to offer and an Emmy award winning producer in Kenny Royster at the helm, your songs will sound better than ever.   I have recorded there two times and planning a third for the spring. Kenny Royster gives you more than top shelf players and premier sound quality. His vocal instruction makes it very much like having faith in Jesus. If you let his will be done, you will NOT regret it. He does all he can for you and the rest is up to what I bring and how I sing. PRO.

  I was amazed at how much I learned in the two days of working with Kenny. He is open to teaching you and improving everything about your songs from the melodies to the vocals. His equipment is top of the line and he is a world class vocal coach. He is open to showing you tricks on how to improve your vocals as well as making your melodies more powerful. I was very satisfied with my recordings because he was the engineer and the producer during the session. This allowed him to be more hands-on with the band and it brought the tracks to the next level. I was very happy with my experience at Direct Image Studio and quite frankly I wish I would've worked with Kenny a long time ago!
