I was previously there trying to get transferred back to a woman shelter in the Bronx. I had met with ms. Lindsay. She was a good help of some sort but I only got a transfer to a different more worse Brooklyn shelter than the last. Then I went back with my complaints and she denied me over the phone through front desk security and said she didn’t want to help me. This entire system just needs to be shut down. It’d be better if the homeless can just work for the money we need to obtain, keep and pay rent. It’s obvious the shelter are falling apart and soon DHS WILL BE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. They act like it’s the most difficult thing to do in which it’s not. But they’d seem to jump for the slackers and junkies.

We were asked to leave the shelter we we're living in for 8 weeks because of a document that mysterious disappeared. However, someone else's document was uploaded into my file. It destroyed my case and has caused me such heartache. PATH finds any little reason for you not to qualify to stay.....sounds to me more like PATH are actually PUSHING PEOPLE AWAY AND BACK IN THE STREETS. ITS CHASING TAILS.

I was told that an apartment doesnt have to be painted white, but any color as long as its painted, in order to pass inspection. Does anyone know if this is a fact, and if its not who do I speak to.. Actually found out that the apartment by LAW HAS TO BE PAINTED NEW, whether it be a private home or apt building Remember to discuss this with the owner before signing the lease The owner, might not want you to paint so make sure. Or do some repairs and this is a sad thing for people who are in shelters that dont know what the laws are. So always ask...

Department of homeless services set you up for failure!!!!! They don’t really want to help people. They got paid almost $5000 A month to have my family of five stay in the Shelter yet they couldn’t help me find an apartment in New York Instead one of the workers was playing the role of being a broker on the side and found me an apartment in New Jersey for nothing because the old Landlord Took all the money and Sold the house and the new landlord doesn’t want anybody there so now I’m going right back to the shelter😒😒😒😒 I question who is in charge of DHS.they gave me such a hard time for me to move into an apartment and I would find apartments on my own and they gave me all the excuses in the world for me not to leave. why is that? because of the money that they are making off of homeless People. I’m very aggravated because I’m disabled and have kids that are disabled and I Wasn’t even offered a program or any help they are all crooks. This system is corrupt and is not fair to people like me Who just simply wants stable affordable housing.
