I broke the antenna input jack in the rear of my television a few months ago. I got a quote of $200 - $300 to repair/place it. $200 - $300 to repair a five year old tv. No way. However, I could not see tossing a perfectly good televison for such a small (but crucial) repair. Well, I crossed my fingers and called Davis Electronics. I spoke with Mr. Davis who came to my place the very next day. Mr. Davis worked diligently and repaired the antenna jack for less the $100 ( parts and labor included). No extra charge for the in home repair. The antenna input jack has a more solid connected than before. Before you consider buying new, call Mr. Davis.

Davis Electronics took my stereo (which was broken) charged a $40 diagnostic fee, then after many months (and many calls) let me know that he was not able to fix it. He did not return the stereo. Basically I paid someone $40 to throw away a stereo. He may have fixed it and resold it. I also had a very hard time getting in touch with him. I strongly urge you not to use Davis Electronics. I have no evidence that he is ethical, responsive or can fix a stereo.

I'm very pleased with the service and with the charges. I have a wonderful old Denon integrated amp that needed repair. He picked it up on Friday and returned it repaired on Saturdayโ€ฆ yes the next day! He did this because I run my TV/CD/HDTV cable all through my amp for quality sound. He spend a lot of time making sure everything was properly reconnected, explaining the issue with the amp and helping me diagnose a problem with a bad woofer in my very old, but much loved, Infinity speakers. We agreed that each of us would research the replacement cost and see who can get the better deal. I would unreservedly refer my friends and family to him.

I felt compelled to write this - as I have no idea how the previous comments could be about this guy. This man knows about electronics as much as google research will tell him. He charges a diagnostic fee, without any discovery towards what the actual issue is, only the approximate fix that in my case was: "there could be 3 or 4 things wrong with this, and the approximate fix for this would be around $500, so let me know if you want to do it". He did not unscrew or take the TV apart, did not have a multi meter (or know how to use one) to test if a particular part was the culprit. Basically looked at it, confirmed the same thing I already told him, and charged an "inspection fee". In comparison, another technician who charged $65, actually took the TV apart, using a multi-meter and schematics for the TV figured out where the flow is wrong. Wrote down the part number needed to replace, and provided with an exact fix for that, or gave us an option to fix it ourselves, after showing how the part is installed. Do yourself a favor, call someone who uses a multi-meter - as that is the only way to find out the bad flow of electricity - and is prepared with schematics for your particular TV. "Davis electronics" is a waste of your time and money, as it was mine. I want to be clear that is review has 0% bad feeling towards the man - he is just trying to make a buck. But he simply has no experience or knows what he's doing with various TV's. I understand other folks were satisfied with him, since they immediately allowed Mr. Davis to fix their TV - thus giving him time to take the TV back, research it on google and fix the problem. Well, what is the service charge for then - no diagnosis, vague explanation, and no work done.
