Our dad has been in and out of Danbury Hospital for the past 6 weeks. The care there has been exemplary, especially the care provided by the nursing staff. They are knowledgeable, kind, and attentive, and they all treat our dad with the dignity and respect he deserves. He has had to return repeatedly to the hospital due to negligence and poor care at rehab facilities in the area. He feels safe, comfortable, listened to, and reassured at Danbury Hospital. He knows they will care for him and that their assistance will be immediate. Can't say enough about the wonderful people at Danbury Hospital. Thank you to all of the nurses and doctors who have managed dad's care since April. Our family is forever grateful.

My 3 year old was diagnosed with strep throat 5 days prior to me taking her to the ER. On Monday 03/06/23 I decided it was best to take her to the emergency room as she was screaming in pain all night. (and so did the on call nurse at her pediatrician office) so I did as advised. We got into see the triage nurse asap. After that we waited…and waited…and waited some more from 4am to 9am. At 9am a very kind lady came around with coffee, a toy for my daughter and blankets so my mother then asked if she could get a status update as to when my daughter would be seen. It was at that moment the lady told us “the Doctor said he’ll get to her when he can” that since she was already diagnosed with strep she wasn’t a priority. I left. After keeping my daughter and my mother there for 6+ hours I was given the sob story of how there’s “only one doctor” like it’s my problem. Absolutely No morale and a complete injustice to my 3 year old, my TODDLER who needed help. Why call it an emergency room if they don’t treat it as an emergency?? Danbury hospital should be ashamed and now I know if my daughter ever gets sick where she needs something other than Tylenol never to go to the “emergency room” it seems to me like ambulances are the way to go. As a mother I am saddened.

I wish you had negative stars! My father was taken by ambulance for difficulty breathing and weakness. He tested positive for Covid and his Pulsox was 87, this was done at home. The ER placed him in the waiting room! When I arrived, there were several people stating they had been there 4-7 hours and "some" of them were not even triaged as of yet. There was a man in a wheelchair who looked like he had a stroke, there was a guy having a kidney stone attack, and a woman who complained she felt her throat was closing up on her, and they were not considered emergencies. What the hell is going on with this hospital? I would like to hear from the CEO!!! It is crazy that people have to wait this long to be seen. #Nuvance Health you need to step up!

Patients waiting 8+ hours in the waiting room tonight (12/29/22) at Danbury Hospital. Sick patients walking out the door (saw at least 3 families leave after waiting 8 hrs.). 79 year old patient with pneumonia waited 8+ hours in the waiting room sitting in a wheelchair with abnormal oxygen levels and no access to oxygen. Staff came out to calm frustrated patients telling them they have 63 patients in the ER - some in the hallways because they have no room. If you can, go somewhere else for treatment.

Very disappointed with Danbury hospital. Before I go on- yes, I know about the “understaffed and overworked” ordeal, and do understand. I went to the ER about 5am for severe abdominal pain w/bleeding almost to the point where I could not walk. I was doing my best to hold my composure. They took me into triage quickly for vitals, then I went back to the waiting room. I was supposed to get bloodwork done according to the nurse but after 10 hours (not exaggerating) nobody saw me. There were people who arrived way after me being pulled in for bloodwork (and yes I know they go by severity). When I asked about my blood work they said they would get to me. Not only did the communication with each other seem sloppy but some of the nurses & front desk staff were rude. We ended up leaving about 3pm. Now, I don’t expect to be treated immediately. Yes there were a lot of people before me. Yes there’s a lot going on- but 10 hours? If we did not walk out we would have been waiting there well over 10 hours. I will be going to a different hospital, not only because of the wait but more or so because of the lack of compassion, communication & professionalism. I’ve never experienced this before, I hope this was just a bad day and not a common thing with Danbury hospital because that is not okay.
