::We hosted an event at Crowne Plaza Cleveland and I appreciated the location, the support coordinating the event and block of rooms, the front desk staff and full service hotel! Missy in the lounge made my day by offering to carry my coffee's to my event room because she noticed my hands were full! Talk about service...and attention to detail...and generous going out of the way...Missy did this with professional Grace and I was touched. I loved Mr. Alex's over-eager desire to make sure I didn't have to lift a bag or piece of luggage the entire weekend :-) Mark at the front desk listened to my gentle suggestion for an extra chair in the rooms with two beds and gave excellent resources for where to have lunch when the lounge was closed. It was a great stay and the best part was the people who worked at the Crowne. Their smiles and willingness to help were genuine and authentic and you can't teach that. Thank you.

::5 stars. Would absolutely stay there again. The service and amenities are top notch. I've gotta thank Mr. Alex for helping us out a LOT during our visit. The second we pulled up the hotel, he was right there welcoming us, taking care of our bags, making sure we got settled, telling us about local hot spots, etc. His efforts really helped make our stay smooth as possible. Also, it must be said, the bed in the room was INCREDIBLY comfortable and the hotel is walking distance to basically everything, restaurants, grocery store, banks, pharmacies, theaters, etc. Such a fantastic location.

::Given that Crowne Plaza is marketed by IHG as an "upscale" brand, our weekend stay was disappointing. We stayed at the Playhouse Square location for convenience to Playhouse Square (theaters) and other downtown Cleveland restaurants and venues. The room itself was serviceable. Clean room and bathroom. Temperature control was comfortable as was the bed. The disappointments were in the "little things" that a traveler is generally going to expect with any hotel, especially an upscale room with a premium price. Among the problems encountered: - Bathroom lighting was very poor (dim). Without exaggeration, showering and using the bathroom was at twilight levels, at best. - A full set of bathroom towels and washcloths was not provided when we arrived. This was resolved with a call to the front desk, although it took longer than they said it would. - A limited number of complimentary toiletries were provided, limited to a single small bottle (each) of body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. - Only a partial roll of toilet paper was in the room. - A box of facial tissue was provided but was emptied after only three tissues were used. - A "do not disturb" sign wasn't in the room, which led to housekeeping attempting entry in the morning when it wasn't wanted. - After we requested from the front desk that additional toilet paper, facial tissue, and toiletries be provided, they were dropped off. We also mentioned that we didn't have a "do not disturb" sign. This was not provided and again led to housekeeping attempting to enter the room in the afternoon when it wasn't wanted. This suggested that it wasn't communicated to housekeeping that the items were provided earlier in the day. - Certain other "small touches" such as complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning were not provided. Yes, we had a small Keurig in the room, but I would have expected a better coffee option in the lobby as is the case with Holiday Inn Express. Any one of these inconveniences, as a single occurrence, wouldn't have been terrible. But with all of them, it really created distraction and a certain level of hassle to our stay. I frequently stay at Holiday Inn Express, another IHG brand, which is advertised by IHG as "simple and smart." In comparison to my experiences at Holiday Inn Express hotels, this stay at Crowne Plaza was not one that I would care to repeat.

::This Crown Plaza is not an upscale location. It is a mid scale property trying to pass off and a higher location. Yes, it does serve breakfast and dinner, but if you truly want good food that is NOT over priced go next door to Yours Truly. The food at the hotel is BEYOND over priced. Also, when I made my reservation I prepaid for breakfast for all my days. I only used two of them and I was charged full price! The furniture in the hotel is a mid scale grade furniture. Absolutely nothing here screams upscale. I would definitely say look elsewhere for a better quality hotel that is worth the money.

::When your only complaint is that the pillows are too big and fluffy, it's a pretty nice place. Our room door had a freak malfunction with the security latch so we couldn't get in, and staff was extremely kind to us and went to fixing it immediately. Our server at breakfast was also very sweet. Clean rooms, comfy beds, a staff that cares... I'd stay here again, no doubt. Thank you everyone for doing your best! (Also the duvets are extremely comfy and warm and now I'm thinking about getting one)
