What it has going for it is that it's clean, there is laundry available on site, and there is a nice little set up for snacks and drinks so that you don't have to drive to the nearest store. The price was reasonable and I liked being able to cook in the kitchenette. Staff was hit or miss. The manager and some night staff we're super friendly and helpful however; quite a few had a nasty attitude. Lots of rude looks, glares instead of hello's, overheard comments, snarky statements, and general gossiping about guests. Professionalism and tact are lacking but, I did give it the four stars because for the area and price they really do keep it clean and I felt that Amber tries really hard to be customer focused.

Great place to stay for our first night in Alaska. We had a nice clean room and yes it was quiet. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable just a short walk to dining and drinks. We would certainly stay here again.

This hotel worked well for my short stay. The location has easy highway access but there isn't too much nearby. The front desk was friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms and building were older. The price worked out for what I was after though. They do have a large laundry room, freezers for storing fish, and seem well catered to fishing. In summary, if I was coming back to fish I'd stay here. Otherwise, it worked for the price.

Not fancy but had everything we needed -- and more. Two huge beds. A fully outfitted kitchen. Tons of hot water. Quiet. And wonderful, attentive staff.

Motel type exterior. Cabin style interior with kitchenette. Lots of amenities to prepare for an Alaskan exploration, including a chest freezer for fish. Front desk manager was very friendly and had lots of great tips/suggestions. Wish the room was a bit nicer, but not bad overall for the price. There was good toilet paper (not Scotty) but we had to call and ask for more because there was only a half roll and no extras.
