Check-in process is a pain, room is ok, location is great, and service is nonexistent. Check in process is a pain. You can get your room key one of two ways. Your choice is to go straight to the room and if there isn't a key you can either take it back downstairs to the pizza mart mailbox or leave your stuff in an unlocked room or you can drag your stuff into a bar/restaurant first and hope there's a key there. Which I did the latter since the pizza mart is about where you would get off from a taxi or rideshare. The room is ok. It's a nice building and the rooms are nice. However, there was a weird smell by the laundry and dryer closet which explains the fan running when I got there. The bed, is a joke, compared to everything else. It's a spring mattress and it may as well sit on the floor. The sheets on it are like something my aunt might have in a guestroom. There was a TV with a Roku box. Netflix had an account signed in already so you don't have to use your's. Convenient. I didn't check Hulu, HBO Go, etc. Kitchen seemed to have all the necessity to cook but I didn't really look. There's a tiny balcony with a patio door that doesn't have a latch. If the air pressure is right that door will open. Seattle was unusually cold when I was there and I didn't realize that had happened until the next morning. I was a tad cold late into the night. Location is great. Walking distance (~5 minutes) to Washinton State Convention Center, which is where I needed to be. It was also walking distance (~15 minutes) to any interesting eats as well. Service is non-existent. Days prior to checking-in you have to submit an image of your ID and a selfie of you and your ID. Afterwards you are supposed to get a welcome package (someone put it together in Word) telling you how to behave and where to get your key. I didn't get mine so I reached out to support about it. Instead of answering my question they told me they needed the person who booked my room's ID. Thinking they misunderstood me I told them that the person booked my room but I'm staying there. They proceeded to not answer my question again regarding the welcome package and asked for her ID and CC to confirm payment. Luckily I got my welcome package finally. So, I just ignored the back and forth emails with support that did nothing to answer my question. Upon arrival the building concierge wasn't at the desk and there wasn't any information of when or where they may be back or how to contact them. So, I text the SMS number provided by Barsala specifically for "Building Support". No response, ever, not the next day, never responded, but that is what they want you to try first. I called the office line provided by Barsala and the person hung up on me after telling me someone will be there. No indication of how long it'll take and I was trying to ask the questions when they hung up. By the way, if you're wondering why I don't just go to the room, I couldn't, the elevators had a RFID lock system, you need to have a "key" to unlock the panel to punch in your floor number which calls the elevator. Why don't I ask some passersby? Because the building occupants are prohibited from sub-renting, I'm a Barsala Corporate guest.... and there weren't many people around when I first arrived. Luckily, the building concierge showed up while I was outside making the call and I was able to get to my room ... after about 45 minutes of checking the pizza mart for a key, looking for the concierge, waiting for a text response, and calling support. Only reason it even has 2-stars is because of location. I prefer public transportation or walking wherever I am traveling and I typically don't really care about the rooms but when you can tell the service staff doesn't care it's a pain. Especially on check in day. That sours the expeierence to no end. I've traveled possibly all day already and you can care less about my situation. And I know they can careless because I've told them the above thru their check out survey and they haven't said a word to me. So here it is for everyone else.

Great location with easy access to the Capital Hill nightlife, safe, secure building with round-the-clock doorman, and well appointed furnishings that make staying here comfortable. There does tend to be a bit of a sense of paranoia upon first arriving at the property, due to the lengthy list of instructions, rules, warnings, etc. that are sent as an addendum to the paid booking, but once you get past the feeling of being a teenager who's been grounded and has to be monitored by every adult on the block, it's actually quite nice. I'd recommend it to individuals or couples looking for that at home feeling while visiting Seattle.

Classic bait and switch. Booked a hotel that was clearly advertised at another address only to find out later it's actually somewhere else. Not happy. It seems dishonest to take advantage of travelers unfamiliar with the area.

Room was wonderful. Clean, spacious, AirBNB-style. Love the rooftop lounge. Very pleased, wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Had a great experience from booking to checkout. The staff was polite, courteous, and went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. I definitely recommend staying here and I will be a repeat customer whenever I go to Seattle
