::Much worse waits than even the DMV. Arrived at 7:30am before they opened at 9am. Still had 15 people in front of me and a dozen or more joined friends (cut) while I was waiting, a lot of the people at the front of the line have numerous passports to take or pick up. Didn't leave till 945 or so. Pick up was no better. Arrived at 12:30 on a Wednesday. Took two hours to get through the pick up line. Seemed like they were planning on addressing everyone that had gotten into the building before 2:30. Worth noting, you can skip to the front of the security line if you're picking up. Also, they DO take credit cards. Visa and MasterCard

::服务太差，去年7月我与老公来回开了4个小时的车给孩子办旅行证，结果说必须预约，后来老公回国，他去办了公证，我去给孩子办，说过期了，必须半年有效。2018年1月10我去办理我的护照换发，因为去COSTCO照的照片，当拍了3小时轮到我办理时，我问了多次，照片合格吗，因为之前在网上预约时上传照片不成功，我准备在大使馆重新照，结果那个男的工作人员告诉我可以，还叫我赶快走。结果一个月之后，一个叫林小姐的打电话告诉照片不合格，我又重新去照，到现在3月2号了，我还没有收到我的新护照，我还等着拿到护照后订机票回国。真是太差了，我多次打电话问，几乎从来都是处于忙音状态，从来没有接通过，整个北美地区，就只有一个办事处，每次去，来回不堵车都要4-5个小时。真的是很差，不是一般的差！！！！每天打电话，就是没人接，给大使馆发邮件，肉包子打狗，有去无回。这办事效率，哎！！！！！办个护照或者旅行证比上刀山下火海还难受！！我上次一个朋友也是如此，给孩子办旅行证，机票都定了，签证快到期了，大使馆不给人家办，弄得他们全家4口人都大哭，跑了2天，每天来回5-6个小时高速路程，最后都急了，跟大使馆的人大吵了一场，都是堂堂国内大教授，却在这种场合急得大哭大闹，哎，得改进呀！中国驻旧金山大使馆，你们不看看这么多人对你们的服务评价吗？你们的眼睛哪里去了?你们的良心哪里去了，在这边却欺负自己的同袍，在中国国内，办事效率远远的超过你们，你们为什么不反省一下。

::I went to apply for the 10 years visa at this location on January 22,2018, like everyone had mentioned it's a long wait. From my experience they are trying to process as soon as they can, the number was called in a reasonable time, first come first serve. I was there around 1 hours and 45 minutes, the staff was nice. It cost $140.00 and it take 4 business days for you to get it back. I have asked about the 10 years visa as my passport will expire in 2019. They replied that if your passport expires before the visa expires you can still use the Visa but to make sure to bring the old and the new passport if you travel again into China within the 10 years. ::I thought it ran pretty smoothly. Just be there at least a couple of hours before they’re open. If you can do that you will get what you needed done pretty quickly. I was there a couple of hours early and the line behind me went around the block.

::Probably the worst Consulate I’ve ever seen, and it is located in San Francisco and it is for China. The photocopy machine only takes quarters and there is nowhere for you to easily get a quarter. The only place is to line up at the information desk. In the end some people waiting for taking passport photos gave me a few quarters. I want to give them notes, but they insisted not to take. We Chinese people are the best! The line is endless everywhere. Visa application for foreigners is around 1:30 hours wait. the waiting area does not have noise cancellation at all, so it’s quite noisy closer to the windows area.
