  Not fully sure how they have such a great rating on here- I warn you to please look up the Yelp reviews. This is a late review, but I wanted to come on and make sure everyone is aware of this company. The movers themselves were very nice, however very careless. None of my furniture made it unscathed. I had reached out to multiple companies and this one got back to me - I did not have the foresight to double check on Yelp ( they have 4.1/5 stars on google and 1/5 on Yelp), and regret not doing so. I spoke with Alex who confirmed, via text, that my move was scheduled for Sept. 30 at 3-4 pm. (3 movers with truck at $80/hr)- with the assumption that I would have them for 3 hours. NOT ONCE did he mention that there were any extra fees. I ended up spending almost 45 minutes with the head mover where he explained to me, there was $80 flat rate, then $80/ hour. Unfortunately, due to my graduate student budget and last minute move from an apartment with a crazy roommate, I did not have the flexibility to spend more than the anticipated $240 + tip. I ended up having them move only part of my stuff, and in the end they had to unload my stuff downstairs in the loading dock and I had to move all of my boxes upstairs by myself. The head mover throughout kept telling me to pay for an extra hour. I was also pissed because the 10 minute drive took them 35 minutes and that cut into my "2 hour" time window. despite the fact that I was paying the extra money in the flat rate to presumably cover that travel time. In summation, it was a cluster, they lied about the cost, they cut my time down, and as a cherry on top charged me $270 instead of $240. Absolutely ridiculous management. DO NOT USE THEM.

  I was encouraged by the reviews on here and used City Movers to move locally. I was thrilled! First of all, their quote was less than half what I got from other Washington, DC companies. They were responsive when I contacted them and really helpful. On moving day two guys showed up exactly when they said, were quick and courteous and really good at knowing how to organize the truck. They even moved my giant couch out my window, which I never could have done/figured out on my own. These guys were really nice, careful with my stuff, and fast. My stuff arrived at the new place in perfect condition and without too much strain on my wallet. Definitely a refreshing experience compared to other moves and what might have been. I'd use them again in a heartbeat, and would certainly recommend them to anyone.

  It was a challenge looking for reliable long distance movers that were affordable. We got the best price from City Movers. Although they are not the national movers that everyone recognizes they did present themselves well. They had nice trucks, Clean uniform and a pleasant crew. The move to the west coast from Manassas VA went very well. We were highly satisfied.

  We used to think that, When it comes to reliable movers, DC had a long way to go. Then we got connected with City Movers Washington DC and - wow! They are probably one of the best local moving companies we have ever hired! Such a great customer experience, would highly recommend their services.

  City Movers in DC was chosen mainly for their reasonable prices for our move. Everyone else was bumping up their rates to astronomical prices but these guys managed to keep it decent. Last Friday they showed up on time, were extremely polite and friendly, and let us help out (thus saving us money). They packed the truck with rather astounding efficiency and skill as it only took us one trip to move a three bedroom place (with room to spare in the truck). The unloading was just as skillful and timely even though we were on the second floor. They didn't damage a thing, even a large TV I had that didn't have a box anymore. All in all I would highly recommend them as it only took us about 4 hours to do this move that ordinarily would have taken at least double the time.
