  I don't normally write reviews, but today 5/1/18 was not good at Chago's. I ordered Pollo Gringo and the chicken was dry and the rice was crunchy. It took 30 minutes to get our food, then we asked for water refills 3 times that we never got. To top it off I gave the server my credit card to pay and she comes back rushing and hands me someone else's card. I had to stop her to tell her then she asked what mine looked like and went looking for it and was back with it in about 5 minutes. I will not blame the server for the kitchen being slow or the fact that she had many tables at lunch rush, so I think management needs to look at their service needs and have enough staff to cover lunch rush.

  The service was acceptable it was bad nor amazing by any means. The food was a bit subpar the polo gringo tasted hmm finding the word for it is difficult but it was subpar it sat like a rock after I ate it and it stuck with me was very disappointed. Now on to the drink, both me and girlfriend both got a mohito mine came out tasting like rum and limes there was no club soda, hers was fine but again was disappointing. All I can say is that if you're looking to get Mexican food I recommend taco mamicita in edge hill, but if you're close go and try Chago's maybe your experience will be good but mine was anything but.

  Inattentive service. Bland food. we were really disappointed here. I always wonder when folks open a restaurant if they try the food before the establishment a menu and open for business. I doubt that happened @ Chago’s. No one would walk away saying this food is really good here. If you have no palate, you won’t mind—but for those that do try “little donkey” in Germantown. Gourmet Mexican for the same price.

  This place was decent. They have a nice concept and a good menu, but their Mexican food was to American for my liking. They did have really good salsa for their chips though.

  I have been going to Chago's for the last 2 years. This is my go to place for Mexican food when I get that urge. They have some unique entrees that you won't find at other places, and they are one of the few quality Latin American places in Nashville that offer free chips and salsa. They have fantastic happy hour deals throughout the week, and their white sangria (which is half off on weekends) is a favorite. Their black beans are amazing, and if your indulgent get the Pollo Gringo. I would give them 5 stars, but their service can be lackluster at times. Despite this it doesn't keep me from going when I want Mexican food, and I love that they allow dogs on their patio.
