These guys clown around a lot, waste a lot of time and want you to drop your car off and leave it all day or for days at a time. Then they'll "get around to it" when they can. Most people don't have an extra car sitting around. We stopped going here when it seemed like they just didn't care, weren't very detailed in telling us what was wrong and what they were doing to fix it, etc. Sometimes we left the car for 2-3 days and then the repair was done, but the same thing happened all over again (e.g. serpentine belt or timing belt was chained and came right back off again because they didn't check the tension or change the hardware). The guy at the front desk spends half of his day puffing and blowing, answering the phone with a snappy tone towards people and then bamming the phone down every few minutes as he hangs up. That's depressing. During the winter, it is cold as heck waiting in that waiting room for them to get done with your car. They take an attitude if you ask to wait for your car and won't drop it off for them to take days to work on.

I went to C.A.R. on a neighbor's recommendation. I was new in town and my car was acting up. When I called, Vic was really knowledgeable about my car model and recommended I call the dealership about the recall they had once offered. Because the recall had expired and Certified Auto Repair offered the lowest price (by a longshot) to replace what the computer indicated, I gave them my business. After Certified fixed the part and the car was still having trouble, the dealership found it to be a problem with the computer itself. As a gesture of good will, Certified Auto Repair refunded all labor costs on the part they replaced. I really appreciate their honesty, helpfulness, and fairness, and I would recommend these guys to anyone. They will tell it to you straight.
