The Metropolitan Museum of Art asks for a suggested donation of 25.00 per adult to visit. The High Museum of Art is 19.50. The Atlanta History Center plus 3 other properties is 21.50. The prices for children are all less. The Center for Puppetry Arts is 25.00 regardless of age. This means that a family of 4 will have to pay 100.00 for an hour long puppet show--and let's face it, is only for the kids anyway. This seems ridiculous, especially since it receives millions in donations and funding each year, some of it from the government. Don't get me wrong, it is a great and worthy project, but if it becomes financially burdensome for families to attend then how good is it? Not to mention they spend 750,000 a year for administrative expenses at a place that uses volunteers for many of the services.

Visited on a field trip with my son's school and really enjoyed it. They had a puppet making work shop for the kids and puppet museum. The Cat n the Hat puppet show was the main attraction. It was very entertaining. I especially appreciated the puppeteers explaining how the puppets worked at the end of the show.

Amazing place. The puppets show was outstanding. Very familiar place and great to take kids. Shade puppetry class is great. You build your own shadow puppet and perform. I went with my wife and we enjoy it very much and the museum is very instructive.

Small but great. They pack a lot of knowledge in a small package. They have a few specific areas and at times traveling exhibits. You can see and read everything (except the shows) in an hour or more if you really stretch it. But, there's a lot of cool puppets from many eras that really make it great. Seeing how far the media has come is pretty great. I highly recommend a visit.

Such an amazing place. The Jim Henson exhibit is amazing. I was nearly teary-eyed with nostalgia. The Puppets of the world exhibit was also great. I went during winter, and the show they were performing was and adaptation of the Rankin/Bass Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer. It was very well done. I highly recommend this place. Must see! I just hope they expand their exhibits over time, I would love to see more puppets.
