  Great historical church in downtown. Before you go, learn about its history as it relates to the civil war. One of the oldest Catholic Churches in Georgia. They have mass at 12:10 everyday for workers downtown. The mass last about 30-45 minutes so it is easier to go during the lunch hour.

  The Shrine of the Immaculate Conception built before the Civil War is not just a historic Church but a great place to worship. I love the daily Mass. I have been there for Sunday Mass a couple of times and loved it. The Church is situated in Martin Luther King Boulevard, a walking distance to the incredible historic district of beautiful Atlanta.

  The Shrine is a historic landmark in Atlanta-- one of the few buildings to survive the burning during the Civil War. It's a very progressive and welcoming Catholic parish that welcomes locals and tourists as much as parishioners. And it's truly a diverse and integrated community as well. They will validate parking for all visitors during Mass, so visit the website for instructions. Another historic parish with a similar commitment to inclusion and social justice is Our Lady of Lourdes, located nearby -- close to the Martin Luther King Center and the Ebenezer Baptist Church.

  Of course what I love is the hospitality and welcome on the part of everybody no matter their background they are welcome at The Shrine
