  My daughter was in a top notch public school...Lacy elementary, but struggling...I placed her in Cathedral starting 3rd grade and saw a dramatic improvement in Confidence & Academic progress. I no longer had to spend hours each night teaching her what she was supposed to be learning in school...no more private tutor, tears, and frustration! She's in Fourth Grade and again loves her teachers...nothing but smiles & cool projects, great friends. She's learning how to subtract fractions right now and i asked her if she needed help...and she stated "Oh no mom, its easy!" I felt like crying. I love Cathedral....I love that she gets invited to all the birthday parties....everyone is so sweet & inclusive. The community feel is amazing. I work a lot of hours at the local hospital...I am not always as involved as much as I wish I could be, however I still feel like part of the Cathedral Family. They have this awesome thing called "Knight Awards", that the children each give each other...a laminated badge for when one of them does something kind for one another...Just an example of how they promote kindness & respect. Cathedral is the best decision I have ever made.

  My son was accepted to Cathedral School two years ago. I was a bit nervous at first because it is a small school and many of the students had been together since Pre-K. Moreover, the public school he had attended before gave him little academic foundation. At first he struggled, because Cathedral does such a good job of preparing students for the big learning plateaus. However, the teachers were patient, kind and supportive and in little time he made tremendous strides. You will never find such a supportive school--not only for the academically gifted but for those who may have some learning challenges as well. Frankly, I could not have afforded the kind of education my son has received. His 4th grade teacher was truly remarkable in the ways he engaged the children. My son couldn't wait to go to school and see what they were doing the next day. I would have thought that we couldn't find a teacher as great as that... until 5th grade. Another year and another amazing teacher! I won't kid you, there is a ton of work (for the student and parent). However, it is a brilliantly run school and everything is done for a reason. You will be amazed at how much your child has progressed by the end of the year. My son was doing work that I was not exposed to until late high school. I could not say enough positive things about the academics of the school. However, the community that surrounds the school is what sets Cathedral apart. For instance, my son had never played basketball (and he is no natural athlete). Still he was invited to join the developmental basketball team. The coach took so much time with him and was constantly encouraging him. And here is the cool thing... because the adults are so kind and supportive, the students are each others biggest supporters. I wish that every student had the opportunity to attend a school such as Cathedral. The world would be a much better place.
