Cashmere is a suuuuuper great salon. I've been going here for about 2 1/2 years now and still love it. Ashleigh Stevenson has been my stylist since my first visit, and continues to amaze me with how she does my hair :). I also went to Ashleigh for hair/makeup before my sister's wedding, and I was floored by how great of a job she did! I brought in a picture of how I wanted my hair and she did it as close to the picture as possible, tweaking it a bit because my hair was a bit too short to be exactly like the pic. She did whatever she wanted with my makeup, and I was so so pleased with the results. LOVE THIS PLACE!! If I ever leave Nashville, I dread trying to find a stylist that tops Ashleigh. My brother also goes to Cashmere and loves the cuts he gets from Ashley Shacklett. He referred one of our guy friends to Ashley and he ended up loving his cut, too. He said his favorite part was the face massage. Never had one of those, so I can't vouch for it. But he's a particular guy so I'd trust him.

I'm still in disbelief over my experience with Cashmere. I was a long-time customer (over a year) who came in weekly for blow-outs because of them being next door to me. I approximate over the course of a year, I spent well over $3000 in products and service in their salon. My stylist (who I found out later was a recent graduate of a local beauty school) made a major mistake in cutting my hair. The thing is, I did not ask for them to be cut. I was dozing while getting my hair dried and she began to trim my bangs and said..."I'm just trimming your bangs a little". Well...where I did have "fringe bangs", I now have 2-3 inches cut back into my hair. They are terribly uneven with more cut on one side than the other. I now have heavy, uneven bangs which do not work at all on my coarse, wavy hair and look horrid. When I complained, I was told that "maybe I had some breakage"! I do not think that blunt-cutting 2-3 inches of my hair back into my head is breakage. I asked for the owner to call me. No one ever called. I wrote a letter to the owner, with pictures of my "before" and "after" hair. The response was that "I had been given a complimentary bang cut" and they do not think their stylist did anything wrong. I am very shocked by this as I was a very good, regular customer. My bangs have been totally botched. My color-stylist of 11 years (at another salon) said she had never seen such a sloppy job. No one ever asked what they could do to make me happy. No one ever said they were sorry. Based on my experience, I think they are using some inexperienced and recent graduates from hair school and charging a high price because of the location rent. This is not a high-end, professional salon as I know how a good salon would've reacted to my complaint and this salon seemed to think that ignoring me and denying that their stylist made a mistake was the right way to handle this. I am just so disappointed in them. As an aside, this is the first time in my life I have ever had something like this happen. Cashmere....this is NOT a good way to treat customers. I could see them being hesitant if I were some walk-in but a regular customer? Selling high-priced products and charging high prices in a trendy location does not make you a reputable, professional salon. A reputable, professional salon owner would have called a long-time customer to discuss the situation. A reputable, professional salon would have talked to me in person and asked to see my hair in person. If I wanted to be treated like I was patronizing a SuperCuts, that's where I would go. Very, very disappointed and I think others should know that they are not pros when a mistake is made.
