  Good local hardware store cashier was good although the customer service is a little bit lacking good choice of products available

  I went to Ace for a car key cut for my 2004 Honda Civic. Bought a uncut key from a Honda dealer. A young guy at the key cut counter was friendly and helpful. Worked 20 minutes on the keys, he finally called someone for help. His supervisor (or the store manager?), Greg, came to me, and told me that my "uncut key" was "DEFECTIVE" and claimed that "HE NEVER SEE THAT IN HIS LIFE BEFORE!" I was wondering how can a uncut metal key be DEFECTIVE???!!! The thickness of Honda key is about 3mm. Both top and bottom need to be cut leaving a metal "GAP" of about 0.7mm in between. After cut, the metal GAP of my key was far less than 0.7mm, it is about the thickness of a paper. As a result, the metal gap fell off from the key. Obviously,THE KEY WAS OVER-CUT!!!! That is workmanship problem!!! Ace MESSED UP my original uncut key, and implied that I bought them a knock off or fake Honda uncut key. NEVER APOLOGIZE to me. I was offered a free uncut key and key cut service on coming Friday 04/27/18. Story to be continued .... Stay tuned!! ********************************************************************* Went back to Ace Hardware on 04/27/2018. Saw Greg at the entrance. He took my key, and gave it to another guy that looks more mature and experienced. That guy took my key, and worked on it for around 15 minutes. When the key was done, the guy suggested to go with me to my car for testing. I said "it won't work because the key needs to be programmed for my car." He said "No Problem, the key has been programmed for you at no charge." The new key simply works perfect!! I am glad Ace Hardware turns my bad experience into a good one. It will be perfect if Greg did not cover up his employee's workmanship mistake. We are all human, we make mistake. I still feel bad cause I was blamed/implied to bring in a bad quality uncut key to them to start with. No matter what, I think I deserve to receive an apology from Capitol Ace Hardware for messing up my original key that I purchased from Honda Dealer.

  Midtown is lucky to have Ace hardware! Friendly people who know what people need. Reasonable prices and has everything everybody needs.

  Excellent visit went all over town to five different places trying to make a key for my house and nobody had that particular key. Capitol Ace Hardware made the key and now I'm a happy camper. Thank you Capitol Hardware

  Very nice helpful, great prices they always have what I need and more, I've never had a problem with anything that I purchased from there, everyone who works at Ace hardware store are very knowledgeable and if they don't they'll ask someone else that works there.
