  Went in for last minute dress alterations for my October wedding. Since I had bought the dress used, alterations already had been made to it. Jose was incredibly honest with what needed to be done, saying that he was only going to steam the dress, clean up the lace, and add a hook by the zipper. He said he did not want to do anything unnecessary and charge me for it. He charged me a reasonable $20 for it, had it ready in two days, and even told me to come back before the wedding and he will steam it clean again for free. I will highly recommend Jose for his incredibly reasonable work.

  I had Jose Manuel take in my wedding dress and make a bustle. Overall, i'm very pleased with the way the dress turned out. Good: 1. Jose Manuel is lovely. Very friendly and nice. 2. His shop is small but cozy and well ventilated. He has a curtain so the changing is done very discreetly. 3. I was going to get the dress done a month in advance but Jose Manuel encouraged me to not have it taken in so far in advance, and I'm glad he did, because I lost more weight as the wedding got closer (could have also gained weight) 4. he does his work fairly quickly (unlike some other tailors I contacted who wanted weeks and weeks notice) 5. The bustle came out great. 6. The dress fitted perfectly (except for the chest). 7. He steamed it very well (it was pretty wrinkled when I got it to him) 8. The price was fair (except for he ended up doing less than he originally told me he would, so I feel like there should have been a discount) I gave 3 stars because: 1. The dress wasn't ready on time, we rescheduled twice due to another order that he was working on - it worked out because I factored a delay into my schedule, but was a bit of an inconvenience as I had to find an empty time slot to go to his shop and it's difficult to do the week of the wedding. 2. I brought the dress to be taken in, it was 2 sized too big. Jose Manuel was originally going to take in the top from the seams in the front - it would have been a lot of work because of the beads, but that's what he said would make it look best. He ended up just taking it in in the back, and it was totally fine, it fit perfectly, except for the top was a little too loose. So instead of taking it in as originally planned, he tightened the top edge on both ends. Which resulted in the material bunching up. Fortunately, you can only see it at certain angles, so the pictures weren't ruined completely. But it wasn't what we agreed on. (I'll try to attach a couple pictures so you can see how the material bunching at the chest on each side. but also how the dress looks amazing overall)
