In A Nutshell: -Camelback Mountain is a great hike! -Please start early, my brother and I started at 5:30am and finished in a couple hours. -If you don't start early, you'll end up having to pass or walk behind a good number of hikers, so start early! -I did the Cholla Trail, which offers a great challenge, but not extremely tough. -Expect to hike vertically for 1.5 miles, then downhill the same route back. -The trail gets a little tough to find, but just follow the various signs and blue spray paint. Overall, once you make it to the top you'll be rewarded w/ a 360Β° view of the greater Phoenix area. Drink water!!

Camelback Mountain is a great half day hike for people in pretty good shape. It takes from 45 minutes to 90 minutes to get to the top where there is a spectacular view of Phoenix and Scottsdale. Bring water if it’s a hot day you will need it. Try to hike in the early morning to avoid the excessive heat.

This hike is not for everyone and I'm not even sure I'd considered this much of a hike just a rock scramble. We did this at sunrise and the trail was packed. Can't imagine how busy it is during the daytime, however I think it would be too hot to do it any later then sunrise. The views were beautiful and worth it!

A lot of fun and great view! Took us about two hours to go up the Echo side and then down the Cholla trail. Make sure you wear good hiking shoes, especially if you plan to go up the Echo trail (it's pretty steep and you have to climb over rocks, etc.). Bring a lot of water and it's also a good idea to go early in the morning so it's not blazing hot and super crowded!

It is an adventure to climb this mountain. First part is a nice walk where you have already a great view, followed by a steep rough climb where you need to be in good shape to be able to hold on a railing followed by another steep parts where you need to use hands and feet to make it to the top. Bring lots of waters. I drank almost a gallon during this climb. It was well worth the effort.
