What fabulous service and tasty food. I came through the door and was welcomed by the aroma of spicy and authentic cooking. I didn't make things easy with my request for something quick and non-onion, non-garlic (unheard of for Ethopian food I realised looking at the menu...), but they could not have been more charming and helpful. Plus I was rewarded with an Ethiopian-style salad (selat) that I was very happy to eat. Thank you Cafe Desta. I will be back.

All my friends said this was the best Ethiopian food in town. They were right! So good.

Excellent Ethiopian food with nice service. The two person plate with 5 choices was perfect for us. The lamb dish had just the right amount of spice. The cabbage and carrot dish was just I had remembered from our trip to Ethiopia.

The BEST Ethiopian restaurant in Tucson! We absolutely love Ethi food and Cafe Desta never disappoints. We make it a point to take all of our friends and family there when they visit from out of town. The combo for two is a great option for 2-3 people, and what we order every time we go. If we have 3-4 adults we'll either add 2 sides or add lamb tibs. Yum!

This place turned out to be a wonderful last minute surprise on a Saturday when we couldn't get a table for our party of 10 anywhere else. They basically gave us a sampling of everything on the menu, and it was all delicious. The BYOB and liquor store across the street were the proverbial cherries on top! I'd note that while the cuisine was definitely Ethiopian, the spices and heat were not as strong as you'd expect in food from that region.
