The milk chocolate was so amazing. My day wasn’t going so great until I drank this amazing hot chocolate. The guy working there was so nice and handsome. He made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend! Delicious!!!

Best coffee shop and hot chocolate in town. Chocolates used for hot chocolate drinks are house made (secret recipe) and baristas are super friendly! Recommended.

Working just two blocks away and having a chocolate addiction problem, Cafe Chocolat was BIG NEWS when it opened. It's one of the first chocolate cafes in DC. My colleague wanted to give it five stars, but a few critiques of Cafe Chocolat warrants a four star rating. Here's what's to love and what needs a little help: What to love: - That it exists: DC needs a chocolate exclusive cafe. - The hot chocolate: It's really good. They make all their own chocolate and it's rich. That richness translates into their hot chocolate. - The coffee: It's also a small coffee shop brewing La Colombe coffee. What needs a little work: -The price: It's a little over $5 for a small hot chocolate. It's really good, but pricey. - The size: It's small and for the price, they don't fill the hot chocolate to the top. I'm glad they are in DC. It is on an isolated street in downtown DC so I hope they overcome that and do well!

I visited the shop on their 7th day of opening. I bought a drip coffee and a mini chocolate suisse. Delicious! The shop doesn't appear to have much to offer but fancy chocolate bars and a small coffee menu but once you talk with the two guys you realize there is so much more to it than that. He mentioned his focus was strictly on coffee and chocolate. It's pretty amazing. Not to mention, it's not Starbucks or any other bakery chain... its a small business with big personality. It's got that modern small town coffee shop feel. And its extremely close to work. 5 Gold Stars... excited to see what little things the shop brings out in the future.
