This is such a fun place to come to. So many really nice grass areas to bring a picnic blanket and lay down and relax. Great views of Manhattan. Great area to sit on the beach. They have an inside "mall" with a great high end restaurant all in a famous area called Dumbo. Such a great place to bring your family.

The Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 5 is a really good field to play soccer. Usually lot of people pay for permit in order secure space but you can get lucky if you analyze who is playing and when. Anyway this is definitely one of the best artificial pitch with a wonderful view over FiDi and the skyline.

Get a kick out of the sports fields, playgrounds and bike paths that make Pier 5 the ultimate hub for active park goers. After working up an appetite, visit Picnic Peninsula for a barbecue with family and friends. Pier 5 is dedicated to active recreation and features playing fields capable of configurations for soccer, lacrosse, rugby, flag football and ultimate Frisbee. Players and spectators can watch the game from the bleachers and benches situated along the sidelines.

They did a really great job on these parks it is a great place to take in the scenery or exercise. Excellent views of lower Manhattan and of the Statue of Liberty. Also in the summer there are seasonal restaurants and ice cream and other attractions which make it a really great place to spend a nice sunny day!
