Very exspensive fabrics only sold here expect $100+ /yd. It does have designer prints and other unique prints. I was disappointed they they are now only 2 stories not 5.

Family owned and operated for more than half a century, when it comes to fine, high quality textiles there is really no where else I would go. Douglas is the best consultant you could ever wish for, be sure to start off with a smile and you won't be disappointed.

Lucas is amazing. He fixed my zipper free of charge when I thought I would have to replace it on a beloved garment. The staff here are so helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you for making my day Lucas! I now will have my favorite wetsuit with me in Costa Rica!

Lets start with: I've been going to Britex Fabrics for the last 14 years. I stop by the store to buy something or just snoop all 4 floors... Well they moved. Only 2 floors, less stuff and the fabrics are just priced way out of line for even a high end store. This time, I stopped for speciality notions. I bought 5 yards of black lace ribbon, 2 different styles of Frog Toggle clasps (2 of one kind 3 of another) and 6 buttons (1" blackish brown rather plain round): Total: $146.00!!! I was shocked when they totaled it up. One of the Frog claps were $18.95 each (I didn't realize they were that much money) and the 6 buttons were a total of $23.75. I went back to the store to return 3 of the clasps and the 6 buttons the following day. To my surprise: NO Returns or Refunds... Moral of this story: Look at the bottom of the receipt. I will not be going back to this store.

Britex moved from Geary, around the corner to Post, in December. I've been there numerous times since the move and I like the new space very much! They've moved from a deep and narrow 4-floor space, to a larger, rectangular, 2-floor space. The first floor has high ceilings, lots of natural and electric lighting. I found many new fabrics that were buried in the old space. The first floor carries wools, silks, rayon linings, evening wear fabrics. A very dramatic staircase, and an elevator (near the cashier), leads to the second floor, which carries notions, patterns (they no longer carry Vogue, but they've added several independent lines), buttons, zippers, ribbons, threads, wedding tiaras, home dec, cotton fabrics, knits (except wool knits, which are on the first floor). The second floor is quite "cozy", especially compared to the first floor, but still has good lighting. I like the new open layout and the wealth of lighting.
