Beautiful, spacious coffee shop with excellent coffee and good brunch food. It felt a little like they were still working out the kinks since it opened recently. We arrived around 10am and only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. Coffee took a while, but I saw a couple baristas being trained so that could be why. When it did arrive, it was great. I had a delicious mocha. I had an excellent prosciutto and egg sandwich on ciabatta with avocado. My partner ordered the salmon brioche. When our waitress brought the food, she let us know that the salmon brioche actually isn’t available until 11, but the made an exception. However, we discovered it was missing capers, which made for a disappointing sandwich. I appreciate that they were trying to accommodate us, but wish they had just told us to order something else. Will definitely be back soon! Hopefully the minor issues are improved.

This restaurant has a great ambiance. Bright and sunny. The waitresses were wonderful and seemed genuinely happy to be there. The food was great but a little too expensive for what it is. We had a bottle of water for the table but no cups. We ordered a flat white and a latte. Both drinks came out a little late and not very hot. I loved that this restaurant was connected to the library!

Amazing coffee in a beautiful location. The manager was very friendly and you can tell it has that Australian cafe vibe where you go and have a great coffee!!! To be able to have an actual cappuccino with the chocolate powder on top you know you can’t go wrong, the croissants are also so delicious.Super friendly staff and couldn’t recommend this place enough. The owner is a legend, props to these guys for bringing Melbourne’s coffee scene to the US for the Australians who need that real coffee fix.

While the restaurant is airy and has a lovely ambiance, these are all things that you can have for free in the library next door. The food itself is solidly just OK but gussied up with fancy presentation. The price is very high and the portions are insufficient for anything more than a snack or a light breakfast. If you want to pay $8 for two slices of toast, an ounce of ricotta and an ounce of jam, this may be your jam. Otherwise, stick with the many other options in the area.

Coffee and design marry at Bluestone Lane. Connected to the newly reopened West End Library, Bluestone Lane incorporates the same style as the Library from the high ceilings, concrete columns, and high windows projecting the perfect light into the space at all hours during the day. It's perfect. It's a Australian inspired New York coffee brand debuting our first, and largest, shop in DC. The owners are Australian (Shout out to Andrew. He's one of the owners and very friendly. He's the type of guy you'd want to be), but it's not an Australian brand going global. Still, it carries with it the down to earth class of Australia. Bluestone Lane serves brunch and coffee in a classically, simple environment. The coffee is roasted and the juice pressed in NYC and their food cooked fresh daily in DC. There's an area with the friendliest table service and a coffee bar selling pastries and coffee to go. My 8 ounce latte cost $5 with a 15% tip (not bad for DC) and was hand crafted perfectly. It was smooth and barely needed sugar. One thing I noticed was no latte art was included. Maybe really coffee doesn't need it? Regardless, Bluestone Lane is a welcome addition to DC and I predict will rise as one of DC's beloved coffee shops.
