  Unfortunately, I would strongly advise against staying in Unit #1, and I don’t think there’s a way you can guarantee in advance that you won’t get this unit. It is beautiful for a basement apartment, but the noise from the unit above (especially if there are kids staying there) is completely ridiculous. The tenants above me were running and stomping around until 11pm, and at it again at 4am. Since sleep is critical when one has meetings on the Hill (or when one just wants to enjoy life), I had to vacate. The owner also did not answer the phone or texts promptly (I waited until after 8am to call). So you are largely on your own here. Also, in unit #1 there is very little cell signal which makes it extra hard to call the owner or book a room elsewhere. I was so disappointed because it’s a beautiful apartment in an excellent location. I thought I’d found “the one”!
