Very nice walk across the river. Lovely view and the state line makes a great photo op. There isn't clear signage on the roads indicating where to park for tourists. The entrance to the bridge is right next to the entrance to the Church of the River; if you keep going down the street to the right there's parking for the trail entrance. If you park in Martyr Park there isn't a direct way to get up to the bridge, but you can access it by cutting through the park and crossing through the back of the church property. There's some nice seating on the Arkansas side, but the atmosphere is marred by the presence of a large billboard over the entrance. Bring a jacket, even in warm weather, because the wind over the river can be strong and frigid.

The Big River Crossing was really great. It was longer than I thought it would be. I would have given it a 5 star but there are no restroom facilities on either side.

I expected to deal with parking issues, then walk up and down slopes in the summer heat. Big River Crossing is better than that. There is plenty of parking, and parking a bit away from the river eliminates the incline of the walk on the Memphis side. The gradual slope down to Arkansas is designed for trains, so it is no problem for hikers. And heat? The air above the river is naturally conditioned. Now if there was just somewhere to go in West Memphis ...

Cross the Mississippi River on foot! What could be cooler? Very well done repurposed railroad bridge. Gentle slopes making it easy for anyone to walk. There are bicyclist and joggers that use this bridge and they are moving much faster than the pedestrians. Use common sense, always keep to the right and be aware of your surroundings before crossing from one side of the walkway to the other. Go! Get outside! Enjoy!!

Oh goodness, well, where will we start. Firstly, I guess on hospitality. Good gracious thank you for waiting up for us. We were coming in so late and we had to stop for supplies, but you did, you waited for us and guided us in and showed us around. And we appreciated it. Love the trains at night. Honestly. Kind of surreal, but repetitive and peaceful, hypnotizing. I felt like I was in another world, like Blade Runner.
