  The perfect place to get work done or just relax if you have nothing better to do. They have all the resources you could imagine.

  Well.... It is quite a frustrating place. How can such a school with such a large number of students have a library with only ONE door? That is one of its drawbacks. Hundreds of students are constantly going in and out of that tiny double door in the front only to have to go through another door. By the time one has uncomfortably made it inside they shall have to present their ID. This is no difficulty at all, we must have security. But this area where one has to show their ID is likewise very small and when there are large numbers of students pouring in the building, it can be quite tedious to be there. Secondly, there is also the difficulty that the library has no other place to return books other than the front desk. They do not have bins throughout the campus, not even in the library! To return a book, you MUST deliver it yourself in person to a customer service representative at the main lobby. This can be infuriating when there is a line! Can you believe it? A line to return a book!? I sincerely believe that this entire process can be greatly improved by the implementation of bins. Finally, there is the computer and ID issue. In order to use a computer, you must give your ID as a bargain. I think it much better to just have students go to any computer available and type in a password and security information in order to access the computer. This way they govern themselves and things run a lot smoother. Unfortunately, the library prefers to make this challenging for its visitors. For some reason I think it's because they like having this power.

  I pay $100 per year to become a friend of the library and gain access. It's an amazing place to study and do private work in a peaceful, clean, and quiet area. I'm an NYU alum, and this place beats Washington Square or Columbia. It also has a New England feel to it. If I had one complaint, a minor one because they have terrific computers, it would be for me to be able to use wifi in addition to current students.
