I stayed 3 nights this week at this hotel for a local conference with 2 other friends. When I reached the room, which was on the 7th floor, the thermostat reading was 78 degrees. There was no option for air conditioning and the window opened 2 inches and was right next to the interstate. I called the front desk and was informed that the air-conditioning in the hotel "wasn't turned on yet" and they could bring a fan up to the room. I asked when the air would be turned on and they replied," I don't know." The fan arrived with a 6 foot cord. We tried to put it close to the window and called to ask for an extension cord, which was apparently not available. In order to get the fan close to the window, which we were told could not be opened further "for safety", we had to rig the ironing board with a lamp and garbage can on top. The fan was plugged into the lamp, which was plugged into the wall, and the fan sat on top of the garbage can to reach the window. With the fan on full strength, the room did cool slightly, but was so incredibly loud that we had to yell in order to talk. We asked daily whether or not the air conditioning would be turned on while we were there and one of the employees suggested that we "take a cold shower." Yes, very helpful. On our last day, the thermostat indeed confirmed that the air-conditioning had been turned on, or at least "cool" was now an option. We turned it on and turned the temperature down...and nothing. The room stayed hot and stuffy...back to the fan it was. My husband is a mechanical engineer and I understand that systems cannot be just turned on and off with a switch, but this was completely uncomfortable, unacceptable, and frankly, extremely rude. The fact that they suggested we "take a cold shower" was just insulting. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again. The only reason I gave them 1 star was because of the friendly waitresses in the restaurant and one of the shuttle drivers was kind and friendly.

Had to book here late one night but were able to get in, and glad we did. Clean lobby, clean and spacious eating area, with a small bar open evenings. Breakfast food was a cut above the usual. Hallways were nice, the room was attractive and clean, and the bed was the most comfortable of several places I've stayed lately. The lav counter was very small, as I recall, and the entrance drive is along a street leading to I-35, which was a little confusing at first. It's a 10 minute walk to the Capitol and a touch farther to the Cathedral of St. Paul. Considering the somewhat high cost of lodging in MN, it's a great deal.

This staff is by far the best we've ever experienced, from front desk to room service to kitchen staff. Excellent service. The breakfast is fit for a King or Queen! This staff is there to make you comfortable. You are guaranteed to be well taken care of during your stay. There's even a shuttle service that will take you to the restaurants!!!

All the staff at this hotel is extremely nice! The gentlemen at the front desk were able to check us in 3 hours early and were very helpful when we had any questions. My family loved the breakfast and felt they offered a good variety of foods to choose from. We would definitely stay again!

Beautiful hotel, good value, and great location. We just got back from our stay and would definitely stay again. It's nice to be in lower MN where things are a little quieter. The hotel is gorgeous and reasonably priced for how nice it is. The service is excellent, too. We arrived very early and the front desk had no problem changing our room to one that was available so we could settle in right away without having to wait until the 3pm check in time. After checking out, I noticed some incorrect charges on my final bill. I reached out to the hotel and the charges were promptly reversed. A+ in my book!
