::Giving it one star for a few reasons. They claim that salmon is wild caught when it’s clear (from the color and thickness) that is farm raised. Most filet fish looks like it’s been sitting there forever. We bought Porgy, took it home and when we cooked it it was rand. The stench was overwlming. There are other better places in Astoria to by fish. I simply don’t trust them.

::Such a shame. This place was AMAZING for years, then changed hands about a year ago. A couple months ago scallops bought there made my boyfriend and I sick. I decided to give it another shot, and went tonight - all the filleted fish looked rank, the shrimp dry and grey. I purchased a whole red snapper, had the guy fillet it, and got it home to find ... it's rank.

::I love Best of the Sea! Great selection of fish at reasonable prices. The porgy is always super fresh, like it just came off the boat. Don't forget to tip the guys who clean or filet your fish.

::This is our go-to market for fresh Sushi fish. The people are pretty helpful and accommodating. We've never had issues with our fresh salmon or tuna and are happy to come here every week
