  Best Cuts is a well-priced old school Barbershop conveniently located just off Union Square. I got my haircut by a younger guy who was affable in the extreme and kept up conversation throughout. We had some interesting conversations for sure. Most importantly, he totally succeeded at delivering me the haircut I wanted, moreso than the other random cuts I've gotten around Manhattan in the past couple years.

  He did a good job cutting my hair. However, after finishing he asked me for two more dollars because "I had long hair". He didn't spend more time with me than with other customers so I don't see the point other than to take advantage of me.

  The guy asked how much I wanted taken off, I said just a trim, very little. Then he lobbed 2inches off my bangs and butchered the haircut. Who thinks two inches is just a trim? Would not recommend if you're thinking about a haircut that doesn't involve a buzzer.
