The heart of the Catholic Church in New Orleans since the founding of the city the present cathedral was constructed in the early 1850s on the foundation of an earlier cathedral and has been renovated multiple times. Its elegant and streamlined design and bright interior convey a welcoming church to persons of all faiths. Unlike many other Catholic Churches, the Virgin Mary is represented as the central representative of the church in a statue above the altar.

A big attraction in New Orleans. A very nice and must visit cathedral church. I’m not a religious person, but felt great and peace being inside. Good art and colorful panes. Check the timings before you visit. Located right opposite to Jackson square.

This is worth seeing! No matter the weather, the church is amazing to see. Cut through Jackson square to avoid the crowds. Highly recommend seeing it at night AND during the day.

This is a very pretty cathedral, if you are a fan of architecture and religious art, take a step inside and look around. It is also one of the oldest buildings in New Orleans; although, it has been rebuilt since its original inception. It has an interesting history of surviving a bombing and even being visited by two different popes.

This is New Orleans' #1 Attraction! It is a beautiful and historic Cathedral. It is difficult to know, where to start in describing this most impressive place a of Catholic worship and life. Should you only be able to one of New Orleans' many fabulous attractions--this is THE ONE!
