Nice place to seat and read. Good coffee and super fresh cooking.

Good. However, cannot use a Starbucks gift card, they are separate from Starbucks, just sell Starbucks product.

Took 3 tries to get our 3 drinks right. 2 of which were simple tea. Kept trying to give us ice coffee and we were even asking why the checkout was saying coffee when we didnt ask for it.

This is not about the bookstore, but is about the cafe, as an experience had several weeks ago a few hours before close. I have an odd coffee order and know it. But, never have I been outright denied it, nor shamed for asking for it. So I found the treatment by the staff member a uniquely terrible experience related to my order when I went in to grab a cup of coffee before settling down to peruse the books. I asked for drip coffee with heavy cream. She told me they didn't have heavy cream. As a former starbucks employee I know they have it on hand to make whipping cream. So, I asked again if I could have a splash added to my coffee, thinking maybe she misheard me. She said no she didn't have heavy cream, Verbaitum: "It's too...thickkkk" with an eww face. I said that that was alright, I'd still like a drip with some heavy cream. And she said again they don't add it to drinks. (Again, personal experience as a barista and customer--they do, it's even a pre-built price for add-on in the system). The manager who was making a drink to her left had caught wind of this conversation and very jovially said that they do and whipped out a whole pint of it to show they had it. The staff member I was speaking with got quiet, and didn't say or do anything. So I asked the manager if I could have a small drip with a splash of heavy cream. He said sure and immediately made the drink. After being rung out and charged the appropriate price (again--HC is a standard option) I got my drink and took a sip to realize that the coffee was stone cold. I have never been what I can only assume is fat-shamed for my order. It is not the barista's responsibility to determine what I can or cannot drink. She does not know my diet or success on it because of drinks like this (hey keto!). It made it an incredibly unwelcoming experience. The old, cold, drip coffee is one thing, it's the end of the night, mabye they didn't know. But the out right lying about what they have and denial of what they are willing to do because of....some personal issue she had is another.

Not even a one star. The staff today, May 20, 2017 were extremely rude. We ordered drinks and they were given to us half full. Two drinks that normally always come FULL. Two young ladies very rude and snide when we asked if that was the regular pour there. So many people look forward to a hot coffee on a Saturday and Sunday morning. These staff need to be trained in customer service. If you provide a coffee with the Starbucks symbol you need to fulfill their motto to tell them if you are not happy and they will fix it happily. Do not go there and pay for a grande when you receive a tall. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE.
