Barnes has been pissing me off lately. Five out of four times when I order something I get no email, and no call to let me know my items are in. I have to call the store to ask and they tell me that they have been in the store for so many days. Well why have I not been told? Don't they want to make money? When I asked about ordering a book called DC Rebirth the worker in a very droll tone of voiced asked what character? Batman? Flash? The thing is the book was actually called DC Rebirth. It had no title other then that. Once that became clear he dropped the tone and looked for a good while till he found the book in question to order. I now have it at home. :) Another time a worker forgot to give me my change when I was at the end of a long day of running around and still had to get to work. I then had to wait around way too long as he called for his boss to go to his register and open the register with a key to give me my change. Smartest worker ever that millennial was. lol Another time the same worker who gave me the droll tone could not find the book I wanted to order. At home I looked it up on their website and called the store and had a woman worker who knew what she was doing order the book for me. Considering I have two books and one blu ray on roder, we'll see if they can do their job and let me know when my prada is in. I miss Borders. They never failed to let me know when my geekery was in.

Hard to find but worth it if you still crave actual books. It's on the basement level (actually street level but feels underground). Rarely crowded even on Saturdays. Nice section on Hawaiian culture and history; otherwise it has all the usual things you expect at a B&N.

If you think your just going to sweep me under a rug and that's that you are sadly mistaken! You have treated me and my girlfriend with disrespect because we are a Bi-racial couple ! Im starting on a local level and working all the way up to a national level of media!!! So hold on Tight Barnes and Noble you will have every Bi-racial couple in the country boycotting your stores when I'm done with you ! And I will see you in COURT !

I really enjoy visiting the Barnes and Noble book store at the Ala Moana shopping center. It has what I consider a very good selection of books on all major topics. Unfortunately I do not get to go as frequently as I would like. It's a distance to drive and, as one would expect, finding parking is sometimes challenging especially during the holidays. The reason for my 5 star rating is due to the large selection and helpful staff. They give good book suggestions when I ask about things so they are quite knowledgeable. The specific reason that I shopped there today was to look for a Christmas gift for my mom. I know she likes to read about certain subjects so it's a very easy shopping day for me. Sure enough B and N had that very book that I'm certain she would enjoy. I believe this is the last of the large bookstores on Oahu so I'm really hoping they are successful and continue to remain in good financial standing. Amazon has really taken a toll on these businesses...
