Hotel wasn’t as bad as I expected from the reviews. We went for the sweetwater festival. It was outdated but I expected that from the pictures. Location was great, bed were comfortable, bathroom was clean and staff was very friendly. Not to mention it was affordable. Only giving 3 stars because yes it is outdated and our bathroom in our room had low ceilings. Much lower then the room itself, being 6ft tall I was hitting my hands on the ceiling while getting ready.

This place is a joke! We were not told about the cost of parking, or that there was no air conditioning. When we called and spoke to the manager she was rude and offered nothing in compensation. Then we spoke with the owner, Frank and he was worse. Obviously this place is fine being 2nd rate. Zero customer service. We won't be back, I recommend you stay away also. JOKE!

Good, no-frills hotel with great Southern-style hot breakfast included. Customer service was excellent. Room service is available but I didn't use it; there were plenty of restaurants just a couple minutes away on foot. Location was awesome - it's right downtown near Georgia State, the technical college, several libraries and museums, business centers, and all the bars and restaurants you could want. I walked to all my destinations except the airport! For the price, this place is totally worth it. If you're looking for massages and bellboys, look elsewhere; but this place is clean, professional, and exactly where you want to be in Atlanta.

The staff at Barclay Hotel were very friendly, especially Victoria at the front desk and Greta. They were very helpful with everything, they told us how to get everywhere we wanted to go and made wonderful suggestions, although everything was right in the vicinity as the hotel. The hotel is in an excellent location for touring the CNN, Centennial park, MLK Historical Park, etc. They have a wonderful breakfast buffet every morning, but the food is the same everyday. The person in the kitchen was very nice and helpful. As far as the rooms, the room I stayed in room 1009 was nice, but it was cold, the first night but got better. The shower water pressure was not good, but enough to manage bathing. The bathroom was satisfactory, but the housekeeping could have been better. Any complaint that I did have, they took care of right away, so my overall satisfaction was good and would stay there again, especially if my budget was tight.

The stay started off great! The women who checked me in on Wednesday evening was wonderful and the late night attendant was helpful with the parking garage, both being so friendly!! The room was nicely appointed, I’d just recommend new windows and proper signage... If you’re going to change the name, finish... Neither of those would have made me leave less than a 5 star review however... Sometime early morning the AC turned to heat, even though that’s not where I had it set, making the room very uncomfortable. The cleaning staff banged on the door at 9am, even with the do not disturb tag hanging on the door and check out being at 11am. So between the immense heat and the banging, I lost sleep..The morning desk staff was also far less friendly than the evening/night staff. These are the reasons I chose a 3 out of 5 star rating.
