    1st RECOGNITION: After being admitted on the 24th of Feb to the SICU UNIT for a couple of days each nurse on that until was wonderful. You want to talk about bedside manners I've never met a group of wonderful people who cared about my well being , so respectful, made sure my every goal was met. They push me to my recovery in a good way. I just want to take this time and made sure that every staff member that had something to do with my care on this unit was recognized for their excellent care.Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there for me and my family. Mrs. Lanford 2ndReconginition: After being transferred to Unit 5B-213 until my discharged the staff on this unit has been nothing but wonderful also. There are a few ladies names that I didn't get but they know who they are. I've been in some serious pain and the staff from both SUIC and 5B have been so comforting to me you just couldn't ask for more they were always there when I needed them I would also like to add that my Surgical Team was outstanding I couldn't have asked for a better team. The food was good too.May God Bless each and every one of you. Thank you

    I've had good experiences for general care here over the years: primary care, dental, radiology, optometry, mental health, cardiology, the pharmacy, pulmonology, GI. Everything is a bit booked out as expected, but often a message to the office can solve quick problems sooner and core offices are often responsive. Care in the Community has always been a good resource even as the choice act unfortunately pushed them more cases. Those good experiences rely on getting into the office though, and good luck getting a call back from some offices that don't use the normal appointment line scheduler. Over months or weeks you'll end up leaving voicemail, then another, then trying to message, then another voicemail just to get an appointment in 3-4 months by the time they call. Need to reschedule? Repeat that process and wait even longer for that appointment. I've had the Patient Advocate help for this in the past which went well, but you shouldn't need the PA office help for scheduling an appointment, and I'd like to see them or other services fix these offices by helping to provide proper staffing for the phones or connecting their schedule through the main appointment line. Specifically: Dental Rheumatology If you know more, name them in another review here so hopefully they get seen and fixed. It's more costly to get seen by a community provider, but the long wait times exacerbated by not getting a hold of office staff for an appointment leaves little other choice.

    Have been going to this facility for several years now. I’ve found staff very nice and helpful. Parking is extremely easy, with the underground garage. Only downside is the facility is very busy and wait times can be lengthy. Bring your patience and a book to read.

    Returning to the US and VA medical services I am now in the Baltimore system, currently I'm in one of the satellite offices and was in the downtown Medical Center. There is construction going on in area and it was a pleasure that there was a parking garage part of the building. Being early for the appointment I had an opportunity to go over to another clinic. Cyrena in Neurology was rather helpful and a joy to work with and she helped me figuring out some other areas I needed to contact including phone numbers. She definitely went above and beyond to help out. Thanks again Cyrena you've done the VA right

    I know the VA generally gets a bad reputation and in some cases, it's warranted when you consider it as a massive organization stifled with red tape and bureaucracy. However, individual people, especially those that work directly with veterans are trying their best to make a positive difference, while also juggling the unrealistic and overwhelming demands of a system that is focused on metrics and not always on the quality of care. I had to call the VA to follow up on some missed calls and was surprised that they had people in the office on a weekend to help. It was a very welcome surprise! Everyone was very helpful from the Baltimore VA Medical help desk, the AOD department, and the clinic's PA regarding the issue I was having. They were phenomenal at their jobs and caring and dedicated individuals in general. I'm sure it might not always seem like those things are noticed but they are and it is impactful. Most of the VA employees are veterans, the family of veterans or just very caring individuals trying to do good in a system that they know can be very flawed. The VA does not pay enough no matter what level you are at especially when you consider the number of hours and volume of work they demand (much like the military). The way the VA system is, it tends to pit VA employees against veterans because it is set up to be overly complicated, in practices and policies for its employees to enforce and veterans to try to navigate. I just wanted to say thank you, and show appreciation for those who are trying to fix a flawed system from within and improve things for the betterment of veterans now and in the future.
