I have been using BajaBound Insurance for 15 years - multiple trips per year. Their website is easy, their coverage is great, and the customer service is outstanding. I have many friends that use BajaBound and unfortunately I have seen claims be filed. Outcomes have always been quick, fair, and what you would expect from the contract. I would HIGHLY recommend using BajaBound anytime you travel to Mexico.

I have not had any claims thus far so rating is based on ease of purchase.

I purchased a full coverage policy from Baja Bound to cover my truck while vacationing in Baja. While we were there, we were t-boned by an uninsured driver, totaling our truck and sending my wife to the hospital. Now 13 months later and we haven't seen a dime, not for our truck or the 13 months worth of rental car. They required us to have an 'official' translator at all meetings, another cost that we've had to pay. Additionally, we've had to return to Baja on three separate occasions dealing with matters related to this incident, all of which came out of our pocket. Last week we were promised a check if we flew down and handed over our title, but when we got to Cabo, surprise, no check. They won't provide any of the paperwork we've requested and now they won't even tell us where our wrecked vehicle is being stored. I've filed a complaint with the California Department of Insurance, but they tell me there's not much they can do. Baja Bound operates in a "loop hole." We've now had to retain legal counsel in both the US and Mexico and are preparing for a protracted legal battle. I honestly don't know how these guys are still in business.

Baja Bound makes buying insurance for going south of the border as easy as it gets. The website is the easiest I have used and the staff really tries to go the extra mile. They do a lot of trips to Baja themselves so they really know the ins and outs.
