Half the people here posting reviews are upset at their own errors! You're renting a car, yes there are taxes and fees. You signed a contract which means you agreed! You can't ask for your money back AFTER you've used a service. Do as I did and ask them in detail what every fee is, and they will gladly assist you. The Luxor and Excalibur are the top Avis locations on the strip. This is not for no reason. They do their job well and charge accordingly at comparable prices with great customer service! If they tell you to call the customer service number or cannot answer your question, maybe you should ask the proper person prior to wasting your breath. The people here rent cars for a company. They don't make the rules. They follow them, and provide a service. With all this being said, I had a great time renting from both Avis at Luxor and at Excalibur as they didn't have the car I wanted and sent me next door to get it handled! They even gave me directions and great spots to check out! Plus a free upgrade to a better vehicle because I promised a tip for the great service! My recommendations: -call the location directly for a reservation -don't book online as the online site is wonky and doesn't pay attention to the individual locations inventory. -you get more sugar with honey -most importantly, don't be rude and upset with the person behind the counter! At the end of the day they are the person who has the ability to adjust your fees!

Staff was friendly. I had made the reservation ahead of time, and everything was honored as promised. They do not have much for inventory. Per the person behind the counter, they only receive cars to fulfill the reservations that have already been made (and maybe one or two more). I was not able to take advantage of an upgrade offer I got, because they didn't have cars. One more thing to keep in mind, just about all of the hotels on the strip now charge for parking. You get a ticket to leave the parking ramp, and when you return the car, you take a ticket and drop it off with the keys. If you are staying at the hotel, make sure they include parking to your room key.

The worst experience ever. AVIS did not have any spot to return and I was asked by the security person of the hotel and the woman on the phone that I have to find a way to figure out by myself. The worst customer service ever in my life.

Rented a vehicle from Avis at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino. The Avis rep (Shawn) was the RUDEST person I have ever dealt with in all my years of travel. He was very SHORT with any answer to the questions we ask him, which I thought was very DISRESPECTFUL. When ask about the price his answer was $95 a day plus tax, he failed to mention any of the extra fees. After I signed the rental agreement Shawn put it in an Avis pamphlet and he told us to drop the key and pamphlet in the drop box when we returned, which I did. On the front of the Avis pamphlet it states under IMPORTANT CAR RETURN IMFORMATION : If paying by charge card, indicate milage, gas level and time, and drop your rental agreement into the Express Car Return Box where availible. A copy of your bill will be sent to you. I did ask instructed on the Avis pamphlet . The next morning I went back to the Avis rental desk and had to deal with Shawn. I ask him when the copy of my bill would be sent and he looked at me like I had three heads. I told him it was written on the Avis pamphlet that if paying by charge card a copy of my bill would be sent to me and he said ever so pleasantly that it was not written on the pamphlet. After looking at a pamphlet from the extras he had at the desk he did reprint a copy of my bill. Avis may be a good company to do business with but having employees like this can give them a bad reputation.

Worst car rental experience ever! Overheard the disturbing conversation between the Avis rep, Sean, and the gentleman in front of us and that should have been our clue to run. Sean threatened to call security on the guy, who was calm as a cucumber and wondering why he wasn't being charged the price given when he made his reservation. Sean told us the total cost, and when we looked at our receipt later, we had been charged more than DOUBLE! Went back to try to correct the issue. Sean first agreed to refund our money, then CHANGED HIS MIND AND REFUSED! This guy has zero customer service skills. We won't be renting from Avis again and definitely won't be staying at Excalibur again either.
