  I've been a member for several years and love visiting. I highly recommend their exhibits and the gift shop has same amazing items at very reasonable prices. Whenever I have company visiting, I always bring them here. And their monthly movie night is a real treat.

  Great museum close to City Hall, and other Civic institutions. Has a varied collection of sculptures, religious artifacts, statues, ceramics, Scrolls, and other artfully crafted artifacts. Not many paintings in this Museum, but that's not what the museum is about. Art forms from various Asian cultures are represented. Restrooms are clean and plentiful, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They offer guided docent tours at several hours during the day, both of the general collection, and ones specializing in a particular aspect of the collection or special exhibits. It should also be mentioned that their in-house restaurants / Cafe offers excellent Asian-inspired food fare at reasonable prices for San Francisco. They also have a selection of tea, sodas, wine, beer, and sake.

  Excellent - there's not many places where you can visit and see so many Asian artifacts and history in one place. Admission here is fairly inexpensive but please, support them and become a member. Place was clean, spacious, A/C and staff here (probably all volunteers) are very nice and helpful. Most of the exhibits had descriptions and you can even check out a headset that tells the history and background. Parking can be a bit of challenge due to the location, but if you come on a Sunday you'll find ample street parking within a few blocks of the place. Or, you can park in the parking lot across the street for about $6 an hour.

  I didn't know what to expect going in, but I quickly found this to be one of the best museums I have ever been to. The museum was incredibly interesting, with unbelievable pieces. Each exhibit focusing on a different specific culture was informative, easy to follow, and expertly laid out. I learned so much. And, it's not a daunting or stuffy museum whatsoever. Can spend 3 hours or a whole day.
