  I am absolutely disgusted by this ER. My boyfriend recently had a tibial nail placed in Colorado after a snowboarding accident, last night we flew back to Indiana and when we arrived he had a lot of pain in his leg, he was at a 10 and previously hadn’t gone above an 8. Because of flight we were concerned about a blood clot so we took him to this ER. When we arrived they checked us in and then left us in a room for a long time without any help for the pain, finally I went to ask them for pain meds and told them what he had been on previously, immediately they said that was too much and started telling us they don’t know what his previous doctor was thinking. They gave him weaker pain meds and then again left us in a room for hours. The pain meds they gave him we’re not effective but when we asked if he could have more or something else they said no and hung up the call button. Eventually I had to go to the nurses station and tell them they had to help him or I would go get his other pain meds and give them to him, they agreed to give him ibuprofen. When we expressed how upsetting the way he was being treated was they shot down our concerns saying it “wasn’t their intention.” They gave him an X-ray when we came in but we had to sit there for 5 hours before they could get an ultrasound, apparently this ED just doesn’t have an ultrasound??? They continuously told him that the meds his other doctor prescribed would make him dependent, and treated him like he was just there seeking narcotics. They also left his door open the entire night and spoke very loudly at the nurses station about him and other patients including names, dates of birth, treatment plans, family, ect. HIPPA?? When the day shift came on they were friendly and accommodating but the night shift staff are a joke, his doctor was Dr. Kubek and he clearly has no compassion or respect for patient in a terrible amount of pain. My advice is go somewhere else!! I promise you it is worth a longer drive to be treated with decency.

  I reviewed a horrible visit that I had in the ER last week, and I got a reply to call customer service. I called to get my test results transferred to my real doctor for review. The customer service representative was worse than the care I received in the ER! The lady talked in circles over me, did not address my concerns about my visit, and offered no assistance on obtaining my records. During the call I also found out that none of my personal information got updated even after the registration lady literally chased me around the hospital while I was allegedly receiving care. This ER and hospital is a mess!

  I would NEVER recommend this hospital or any other St. Vincent hospital to anyone. They made the process of my loved one dying so much worse that it had to be. They would ask a question about care. My loved one or I would answer what he wants to happen. They would argue and harass me about our decisions. Absolute worst experience we have ever had at a hospital. The majority of the ICU nurses were very hateful, especially Terry. She would consistently laugh at my loved one in pain. I will never recommend this hospital to anyone.

  Took my daughter to the ER and was treated like a misfit. I will never return. Make a long story short the staff sat at the nurses station laughed and played. Even if our visit wasnt a real emergency it was emergent to me and that’s why I brought her. My only regret was we waited five hours for absolutely nothing. Ended up taking her somewhere else and was treated with respect, dignity, and kindness. Anyone of color please don’t come here, if you have to bring your young children/ child don’t come here because they want silence like we are suppose to be in time out or something. Never again we will just take the longer drive to a different ER from this point on.
