This is the only person I let touch any of my vehicles. He's been our mechanic for years and years. All of my family and friends go to him and i am so greatful to have a mechanic that has integrity.

For months my 01 Nissan Frontier's check engine light has been ON do to a fail knock sensor. I drove it to Arturo's garage on October 24th 2016 to have it fix. After researching this specific problem and talking to other Frontier owners, other mechanics, I learned that this is a common issue with these kinds of trucks. Arturo said that for $250.00 the knock sensor can be replaced the same day. He explained to me that it would be in my best interest to go ahead and remove old gaskets, spark plugs and the knock sensor, and ot will take a little longer plus it will cost me $500 for labor alone not including the parts. I was cool with it and it made sense to me at the time. I want my truck running smooth and so I agreed to do all of the above for $500.00 even if it meant that I wasn't going to have my truck for 2-3 days. As we got into details I mentioned an oil leak and it was then when he tooked a look underneath the truck and suggested that we pull the engine out to have a clear "better look" but this will cost me even more money and the job will take 3 to 4 days to complete. I'm worried now this means, 4 to 5 days and more money that I have to spend. I also know that I need the truck working good to be able to stay busy and make more money. We decided to do it all, overhaul the engine since it was going to be out anyway; change seals, change gaskets, timing belt, thermostat and water pump. This time the price was going all the way up to $750.00, again, this did not include the parts needed to do the job which will cost an additional amount estimated at $450. He said to me, "I'm going to throw in the labor for draining the transmission, replace the filter, add new transmission fluid," and so I agreed. I paid him in full, $750.00 cash that day! Right after the engine was pulled out he called me to my cell phone saying that: "we would now need to buy two engine mounts because one of them was broken", I was shocked because engine vibration was not an issue. By the way, he never mentioned whether this happen when pulling the engine out or if it was already broken before the truck was driven into the shop. I visited his shop the day after the engine was pulled out bringing new parts with me and saw the engine hooked to a engine puller partly assemble with gaskets and O-rings laying all around it, only that these parts were not being installed but left behind. I clearly recognized the two new head gaskets that was left behind and I asked, why they weren't install? and he replies; "that was not part of the deal" I almost fell to the ground with that answer! I didn't know what to make of it and I was upset, surprise, and disappointed. I realize quickly that something was not right when he asked for more money to have the other parts replace. A day later (day 3) I'm back at the shop to my amazement I see the engine still mounted outside the truck not completely put together and the mechanics all working on different cars but my own. I needed an explanation, either way the one I got didn't help me to understand any better, so when I walked out of the shop and went back home. Arturo looks like a 55 years old, 5" 3' 190 pounds, he's been a mechanic all his life, you would think he knows how to do this job. I got my car a week later it was all dirty, check engine light still on, and after inspecting it I can tell that it was leaking from the engine still. He told me that if I just drive the car around for a day or two the check engine light will go away on its own, that never happened! This guy knows what his doing, he's a crook whose job is ripping people off.
