Extensive plantation with a mansion, this historic location is a great place to visit for any age. Decent admission fees and cafe prices, free parking. Guided and Self-Guided tours are available. They do not allow backpacks or large bags on the grounds. The grounds are expansive, plan to walk a fair amount if you want to see all the buildings. The mansion tour is guided, but isn't really all that impressive. The rooms are sparsely furnished, the most impressive parts being the history itself and the custom wallpaper of the entrance area.

We went here on a whim while visiting family. So glad we did! Beautiful grounds and highly knowledgeable staff; I (and others) asked broad ranging and obscure questions and were always surprised by the depth of the answers. The self-paced audio tours are interesting and informative, and there are separate tracks for adults and children. Great parking and very reasonable entrance fees. We were here for around 2 hours and saw only a quarter of the grounds and exhibits. Will definitely go back on our next visit.

Good exploration into life as it existed in early history of the USA, prior to the Civil War. I think the subject of Andrew Jackson's slave ownership was treated factually and fairly, as was the life and times of his slaves. The preservation of the Hermitage Mansion is amazing. The interior rooms could easily be mistaken for well decorated classic interiors of today. We bought the "Presidential Tour" which totaled to near $80 for 3; we wondered if the narrations, could have been the same with the lesser cost tour.

Went on Andrew Jackson's birthday, so the line to get in was abnormally long we were told. Other than that though the museum and tour are first rate. Guides know their facts and the self guided tour is filled with facts. Andrew Jackson the 6th was signing $20 bills since it was a special day. Admission was also half price because it was his birthday. Would absolutely go again. Perfect place to get out and stretch the legs.

I absolutely loved This! There is so much to learn here. This was a very well managed establishment, very clean as well. So many photo opportunities as well. I was a little disappointed that I could not take photos inside the house but I can understand why. It was so interesting to see how a wealthy, well to do person lived their life back during this time period. The house is so magnificent and no bathrooms! My kids emitted it as well. If you work up an appetite during your tour there is a great cafe next to the reality nice gift shop!
