  The things that make you go ahhh.... We stayed at the Ames Hotel to celebrate our anniversary. We were looking for a peaceful place to relax and unwind. This is the place. The rooms are elegant and uncluttered. With a curtain between the glass shower and the bedroom, we could pull back the curtain and watch TV while showering and getting ready. The design of the hotel with only two rooms in each corner made for a very quiet experience with no noise from other rooms. Pleasant staff and convenient location. There's nothing we didn't enjoy about this hotel.

  Historic building with contemporary rooms, cleanly designed and well kept. Spacious and luxurious, but unpretentious and comfortable. The restaurant downstairs is incredibly good, both for a formal dinner, and for a quick business lunch. Location is practically unbeatable for both tourism and business. Valet parking at $53 is expensive but convenient and in this area you won't find much cheaper anyway. 100% recommended

  It is a nice, "upscale" hotel. I do not feel the price was worth the amenities and comfort. The bed was so, so. The room temperature could not be regulated to my liking.. Always seemed too hot, even though it was low temps outside. The bathroom was strange, the shower leaked onto the bathroom floor. It was designed to actually work this way. Strange, especially with no drain in the bathroom. I will likely look for other accommodations if I return.

  Awful Experience. Bar was great, unfortunately that was the only part. Dirty sheets(popcorn in our bed), young, inexperienced and rude staff. Continual bothering in hotel room when privacy sign was up in order to clean room. Everyone seemed very confused about the simplest tasks. It took 4 different tries to 2 wrong rooms for them to deliver toothpaste. Due to having multiple rooms booked under same name, the staff was overly confused and it ended up making the weekend more stressful than it needed to be considering our stay was there for a funeral. This hotel definitely did not give service.

  Was supposed to be there two nights for a conference - got stuck by a nor' easter. They extended my stay at the conference rate for two more nights while I waited to get a flight out. Everything was great - rooms were beautiful, contemporary, and clean. The gym was just what I needed, staff was very friendly. Had a map for a running route that took me on a nice little tour of Boston. Highly recommend.
