  I decided to join American Watersports and become a member on Friday, I have never driven a boat before. They told me that they were going to give me that day a 2 hour lesson. I waited 4 hours for one of the members of staff to finally decline my lesson, at this point I already had booked a boat for the following day and had I cancelled I would have to pay in full. The following day I took the boat out, I naturally got lost - they charged me $230 for being 1 hour late which was largely to do with waiting for another boat to park I also called them and told them I was going to be late. They told me to go to the gas station to make sure I fuel, but the station was closed at the time. As I got lost I caused damage to the cloth that covers the bimni top. This cloth costs no more than $800 for the best quality one on the internet. They told me that I needed to pay for this at first and they came with a number of close to $1000, which I fully took responsibility for. Three days later the owner of the place called me and told me that he is canceling my membership, charging me the full $3000 as well as the the late fee and other fees. He told me that now he needs to replace the entire bimni top which costs apparently $3000 (it does not). I told him I will happily buy them a new top provided that he shows me receipts and I get too keep the old one (which apparently I broke) He refused to give me the old one as they are obviously just going to repair the current Bimni Top, perhaps order another one and then send it back. They later claimed that I left the premise and destroyed the boat below - this isn't correct and I had many witnesses. I did get lost and it was hard to navigate a boat for the first time. They clearly profit from people making mistakes, and that is part of their business mandate as you can see from many of the reviews.

  Scammers. Online they advertise no deposit and $100 jet ski for 2 people and 1 hour. We arrive they request $500 deposit, take a physical therapy test and $165 a jet ski. I'm in Miami as I type this and I'm at this spot called Miami Jet Skis in Bayside by Pier 5 no deposit required and they have availability. DO NOT SUPPORT THEM AT ALL THEY ARE SCAMMERS

  One of the worst rental experiences we've ever had. They charged us $400 fine for there being less rust on the propellor after using the boat for less than 4 hours. Sounds like this is a scam they pull off often. They have the whole thing scripted. Very disappointing after the fact that we put up with the boat not properly working and warning lights going off the whole time. We boat regularly and own a boat of our own, so we understand the situation of the boats condition and proper matitence. Very disappointed in the employees/service as well. We won't be returning and advise that others choose a different company to rent from.

  We had a horrible experience with your company. My brother rented a very nice boat for the day to celebrate my birthday and we ended up upgrading to a boat with a commode since we had a couple of us with digestive issues. To our surprise, not only did we pay for an upgraded boat but if we actually used the commode we would incur additional fees! What a ripoff!! Additionally, upon our return we were informed by the manager that we had "run aground", which was completely untrue. There were 7 adults and 2 teens on board and not once did we run aground! One of the other staff at the desk confidentially informed us that that particular manager does this on a regular basis, especially when it's the end of the day and he rushes people out while charging exorbitant fees for bogus problems. We were charged an additional $400.00 in addition to the rental fee. My brother is very wealthy (millionaire) and can spend his money anywhere. We certainly won't be recommending your company when doing business or pleasure. The customer service was horrendous. We are long time large boat operators and know what we're doing on the water and behind the steerage. We hope this was worth the potential loss of business you might incur due to the incompetence of your managerial staff.

  I rented a boat with my family and it was nothing but perfect. Very professional staff and amazing boats. No hassles, no problems. I'd give this place 10 starts if I could!
