  Amalgamated Bank is living in the past. Sad. I wouldn't mind supporting a labor bank. Unfortunately, the polices and attitude of the workers don't reflect 2017 and the technology of the times. This particular branch looks like a cross between a bank and a nursing home. The facility is long past prime. The plastic coated wallpaper makes me cringe. It looks like there were decorations or promotions once hanging, but they are all gone, leaving dozens of holes. But looks only go so far, right? With good service, I could overlook the facilities--I like dive bars. Perhaps the bare walls reveled the obvious writing on the wall... My prediction... they're going to close this branch, just like they closed my branch in Harlem. In fact, it would make sense. I was the only customer in the bank when I visited. Comically, it wasn't easy to stir someone's attention to assist me. When I did, I woke up a policy hawk who wasn't willing to make problem solving suggestions. If you want a DMV experience without visiting the DMV, bank here. Bronx attitude, "Back of the line." I would think twice before opening an account here. This bank is shrinking, not growing. The policies are stuck in the past. You'll have to visit the closing branch network to actually get banking done. *Thankfully you CAN close your account by phone and mail when it's at a $0 balance.

  My local branch is closed so I traveled 2 hours to this Bronx location today so I can make a large deposit to my business account and change my debit card pin and the branch was already closed at 12:55. There were employees in the branch. I am switching to TD bank where they will serve you no matter what time you get to the bank.

  Great bank. They know me by name and I don't go in every week or month. One of the last "neighborhood" banks.
