::I lived there for four years during college. They baited and switched, showing a really nice apartment and then giving a really terrible one. The hallways smell, the heat would go out in the winter pretty frequently, the windows were single pane so it would be really cold in winter. It would also be burning hot in the summer. The elevator would break pretty frequently and the community was pretty dirty. They looked nice on the outside, but on the inside there was just trash and gross smells. I got a few carpet bugs and am a very clean person. They require a laundry card instead of money which can be either convenient or really convenient. You can't quite spend all the money correctly because 1.75 doesn't always divide easily (that's what it was when i was there). There isn't a machine to put on money in every building. It's difficult to get packages delivered. If you don't move your car immediately before snow plow I know they tow cars like no other, but I never had a problem as long as you pay attention to the notices. They messed up my deposit refund because they didn't keep record that i qualified for a free carpet cleaning, so it was very difficult to get everything back. KEEP ALL YOUR DOCUMENTATION AND THEN SOME. Would definitely not live here again.

::Sadly I have to leave at least 1 star and cant leave the well deserved and earned -5 stars. My brother and me have live here almost 7 years. I'm not exaggerating when I say in that time not Once has anybody ever answered a call when I called the Office. Then when you get tired of trying to call and decide to just walk over there is a 50/50 chance it will be open. I filed so many noise complaints and was 100% ignored. The people above us must have weighed a few hundred pounds each and were into aerobics. Everything in our apartment would shake "EVERYTHING" even the water in the fish tank. You could see the sheetrock on the ceiling bow. Outlets are a fire hazard as nothing will stay plugged in, ceiling fan shorted out and blew the breakers probably from the fat asses upstairs jumping around. Exit lights are burnt out, fire extinguishers are expired, Mold on the bathroom walls from the leaks from above us. Usually smells like a damn marijuana factory walking the halls, Laundry equipment works sometimes, there are 5 washers and 6 dryers for the entire building. Yes, some jerks love to fill all the washers and then leave for the day. Maintenance is a 100% joke. I have done building maintenance elsewhere for a long time. These guys either suck or are not allowed to maintain. Carpet in the apartment is pieced togeather from the best carpet pieces of other apartments. Never seen so many splices / taped joints in such a small area of carpeting. The only reason we stay here is my brother has dogs and they allow dogs here.

::Looking for a cheap place to live right? Don't spend your money here. Pay a bit more and live elsewhere or spend the same, just not at Alpine or with Weidner. Facts: -You will not be treated kindly -You will not work with professionals at Alpine -You will not be communicated with promptly -You will live in an apartment complex that has a laundry list of issues, ancient appliances, black mold problems, leaking roofs and lights, and so much more -You will dread coming home and regret your decision to live in such circumstances. -Things will break and not be replaced -The leadership of Weidner is predatory and unresponsive to legitimate concerns of safety, livability, and customerhappiness. -The elevator will rarely work, and inspections are not kept up to date. Do not let Weidner take advantage of you just because they have a large number of properties in Anchorage. There are better options! Google Reviews are a valuable resource for you, take the warnings you see here for what they are: the truth. I lived in Alpine for 2 years, 2 long years that I regret. As of this date in November of 2017 it is a renters market, so be picky, demand more, and stay away from Wiedner, and especially Alpine.

::Pay your bills on time, and everything will be fine. Are there the occasional hiccups? Yes. A neighbor's kid might be ridiculously loud, or person may smoke out there window and it gets into your window. BUT, that's why Alpine Apartments gives you a phone number to call so you can complain and they will go and rectify the situation.

::New changes in management have made certain issues a lot better. Such as maintenance, and pet help. If alpine continues good worker changes, this apartment isn't bad for the money when most places in anchorage are so expensive or don't even allow dogs.
