  The food was actually pretty good. I got the ribs, and the meat was tender, juicy, and flavorful. Well above average as far as ribs go, and I'm usually pretty picky when it comes to ribs. However, the service was really atrocious. I know people in the industry have it rough, and picking on people waiting tables is pretty low. As a customer, I always try to be extra kind, gracious, and leave generous tips to try and offset the monstrous people that people have to wait on sometimes. So, I hate complaining about service, and almost never do it unless it was painfully bad. Well, it was. Maybe it was just an off night for my server. It certainly wasn't a busy evening. From observing, I think she might have had one, maybe two, tables other than mine. But, the only time she came over was to get my order and to bring the check. My glass was empty since well before my food came, which was some other server. I tried to get her attention, but she never even glanced over. When she brought the check over, I hadn't finished eating. With a polite smile, I asked if I could get some more sweet tea. When she came back, she brought a to-go cup, with unsweet tea. I got the sense that they didn't want me there, so I left. I was--and still am--confused by that. I came in a couple hours before the restaurant closed, and it wasn't busy. I'm not sure why I was being rushed out the door. And, to top it all off, when I got home, I felt a little sick to my stomach! Which, honestly, didn't really bother me. The food was good! It's barbecue. ...it happens. I look forward to trying it again. I hope they do better next time.

  Food was good, server was very helpful. I got the three meat dinner. Meat was tender, fried okra was perfect. They have TV's all over the place and had several games on. I enjoyed the visit and will go back again.

  Just went to Albert G's downtown. We go on Wednesday's to get the smoked chicken. What a disappointment this week. Chicken was so overcooked that I was only able to swallow 3 bites. Advised waiter and had him look at it. He agreed that it looked pretty bad and offered us a free desert. What? For inedible meat entree he should offer to replace with edible food or remove the meal charges. My husband's brisket was also overcooked, but he choked it down. This is the second time this happened. I realize smoked meats can be dark looking. But when it is burned black it should be a big sign that they are selling inedible food.

  A solid meh from me. I got the giant potato with brisket. Meat and potato were cooked well but not seasoned. I didn't detect so much as a pinch of salt on the potato and it was nearly swimming in butter. Both the "hot" and the sweet sauce taste virtually the same. Honestly Sweet Baby Rays would be better (as would many store bought brands.) For the price of 9.00 for a meat and spud overall it was a good portion size but the flavor lacked. MEH.

  Really disappointed in food this time. Brisket was solid but sauces are not. Potato salad was bland and not good at all. Ribs were over seasoned and smoked. Okra was great. The bar and service were excellent (Rob) though. Great location and good beer selection.
