  Relatively clean and fast, red line to Sutphin blvd connects to the LIRR Jamaica station; and the NYCT Subway to Penn station, 42nd st bus terminal and ground zero. For a smooth transition purchase the $6 airtrain fare WITH a $2.75 subway fare, DON'T put $40 on the airtrain MetroCard, it wont work for entrance to the subway and results in $35 in value tied up needlessly after one airtrain ride.

  It's an amazing service to take you around. If you haven't flew in like really long time you will notice that the Air Train is so much better than taking the bus.

  I think this is the only place in the world where you have to pay for using intra-airport transport!! And it is not even anywhere near a reasonable price

  The expensive monthly subway/bus pass is NOT compatible with AirTrain, even though it’s the exact same card.... Let’s take public transport seriously already.

  For $5 you can go to your terminal at JFK Airport
