Afro Deli is a great place for good that has a blend of african and indian cuisine. Their quality of food and their service is spectacular. I have never had any complaints so far and have been a frequent visitor to them since The past few months. My favorait at this place is the chicken curry, keke and the samboosa. I wish they did deliver and were open a bit longer than just 5 PM.

This place fills up fast and without outdoor seating, it becomes standing room only...so that's not great. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly. The curry is great and the smells are to die for. Parking is somewhat available in the area...But if you can get there without driving, all the better.

I was at Afro-Deli with my colleague and we both liked the Grilled Chicken Steak with French-fries and Somali Sambusa's. If you are early lunch person, Afro-Deli is usually packed around 11 AM - 12 PM. I go there from 1 PM and there are available seats for everyone. Staff are friendly, owner is nice and personable. I adore their Exotic galleries on their walls.

Disclosure: for a while, I worked in Saint Paul, and visited Afro Deli at least once a week. It was my comfort food. The staff came to recognize me, and the chef even introduced himself to me. I wasn't paid to praise them, but I feel like I'm too loyal to not be biased. If you've never had a sambusa before, start here. Their fries are my favorite in the Twin Cities, everything is halal, and the cuisine is this approach but additive mix of American and African. They also instilled in me a love of Somali spiced tea, although no one makes like they do, and I find myself comparing everyone else's recipes and being slightly disappointed.
