    BEWARE and AVOID - they are a NIGHTMARE if anything goes wrong They have an exploitative and ridiculous system currently for dealing with tolls, and the staff seems to try to deliberately confuse you about it so that you'll get charged more, and their national HQ and customer service folks take 0 responsibility for any of it. Basically with the tolls, you can choose to either pay $20/day and can go through as many tolls as you want, but you have to pay for every single day of your trip even if you don't go through a toll OR you have to make sure to use cash in all tolls and pay yourself, and if you accidentally go through a toll and don't pay cash, you will get charged for the toll PLUS a $30 processing fee per toll. (So, either way they are trying to profit off you on this) Here's the catch they don't tell you about: NYC now has 100% cashless tolls! So it's literally impossible to drive anywhere except our to Long Island without having to go through a cashless toll. I was taking a 10 day trip and would be in an area with tolls only the first and last day (when in NY and NJ, 4 tolls total (2 each way)), so my options were to either pay $200 for the 4 tolls I would go through ($20/day * 10) OR be forced to go through the cashless tolls paying $120 ($30*4) + the cost of tolls. Turns out that was the cheaper option, but they hadn't even told me I wasn't going to find any cash tolls in NYC metro area, so I assumed when they told me I could pay cash that that would be an option. But what really was wrong about how they handled this was, after going through my first cashless toll dumbfounded, I pulled over to call them and they told me it was fine, I could call the toll company after a week because then they would have the toll processed, and I could pay for it on the phone to avoid the $30 fee. So I set a reminder on my phone to follow up in 7 days, but before then I saw Advantage had already charged me for the $30. So they misinformed me about how long it would take to process and refused to take a shred of responsibility for this. To top it off, their national customer service was extremely rude. They would tell me every time I called that the issue was being escalated to upper management and I would receive a call back in 24-48 hours. I never received a phone call back, not once. I called 3 days later, told them they hadn't called me, they apologized and said someone would call in 48 hr; no one ever called, I called them back a third time, told them the whole story again and how people keep saying the will call back, they said they would call back in 24-48 hrs, I said "you keep telling me that and not doing it--are you giving me your WORD?" and the rep said "no, I can't give you my word", so I said "then what are you for?!" They have absolutely no integrity. In any case, I waited patiently for another 48 hrs and finally forgot about the whole thing. Then this week I remembered this whole saga that happened almost two months ago and thought "those --------s never called!!!!" So I rang them one last time just to tell them they are 100% beautiful lovely human beings, but that their company has no integrity and is completely hollowed out in its core, and the rep told me "sorry sir, this case was closed a few weeks ago but they aren't required to notify you. If you'd like I can escalate this for you and someone will follow up." I literally just hung up at that point. Anywho, long story short, I will NEVER go to this car rental place again. They are trying to exploit people, they have the DUMBEST toll payment system on the face of the planet, and their customer service has zero integrity. And so on...

    I would not recommend this place based on how they've handled taking payment for the car hire. We were quoted a specific total cost plus security deposit when collecting the car and they took my card details for payment at that point - that was all agreed and fine and the amount was holding on my bank account up until returning the car. However, upon returning the vehicle they had increased the price on the invoice by around £50.00 and no explanation given. Despite this we paid the bill in full at the time due to leaving the country that day and disputed it after. Can get no straight answers from the customer services (still awaiting a "response from the manager within 48hrs" over two weeks later)... I get back home to the UK to find they've tried to take £110 from my bank account the day they took the payment. That second attempt was cancelled and returned to my account. However, today I found my card to be blocked as they've tried to take money from my account again! Utterly fraudulent behaviour and will be reporting this company. As for the car, it was a nice car but they are hired out with body damage, tyre pressures hadn't been checked as we ended up having to do them during the first couple of days of the holiday as they were dangerously low and fuel tank was empty. When you hire a car, you expect it to be in a safe, ready to drive condition. Overall, do not use this company!

    I Had a Great Experience ..it Was Quick and easy I booked Online 2 Days Ago and when i was there to pick Up car. It was Ready and the same Car i booked. Car was Clean And Nice Easy Drop.Off . Too like it .

    This is the second time we have rented from Advantage and both times we booked through a 3rd party. I would recommend checking Advantage’s rates first because it only saved us $1 ..and we didn’t get the information we needed from the third party. We have had great vehicles both times .. they were out of the vehicles we had reserved but we were thrilled will the ones they substituted. Both times the staff was both direct and helpful. The first time I didn’t take the easy pass.. big mistake! Everyone was helpful and the shuttle to the airport was prompt and the driver made sure we had the right shuttle connection before he left.

    OK I don't get the bad reviews. Made a last minute booking for a manager's choice at a very nice price last weekend. Got a nice RAV4 (6k miles, quite new). The pick up process was smooth and the return process was fast. They rented me a car seat for my son, and in general were efficient and well above the average rental place (especially at the price). Would go again.
