My wife and I have been looking forward to staying at the Ace Hotel for a long time. We have always been impressed with their branding and aesthetic. However, I hate the say that our stay was quite miserable. Our room was humid and crazy warm (mind you, this is coming from people living in the south). We opened the window to let the cool air in, but being downtown meant we traded heat for incredibly loud atmosphere and bright lights pouring into our room. We had only a small desk fan to help move the air around otherwise. The shares bathroom wasn't a big deal, and the soaps were nice. The bed was fairly comfortable. Over the phone when we booked, we asked the concierge for recommendations nearby for a nice dinner. He acted inconvenienced and unfamiliar with the area. The literature in our room explicitly expressed that their staff was happy to offer recommendations, so irony is still alive and well in the hipster culture they embrace. We will stick with Airbnb around Seattle and check the Ace Hotel off our list.

Stayed a couple of nights, hotel staff was awesome, breakfast was delish, and the shared bathrooms were clean. Bed was comfy too. Hot top, opt for the free ear plugs at the desk.

A mid-level hotel that aspires to be a charming low-end joint. Walls are a bit thin, the mismatching decor silly, and the bed not super comfortable. But the help is very friendly, and the breakfast of waffles, toast, cereal, yogurt, and drip coffee is good. And it is a good place to start and end a walk from the sculpture park to the ferry terminal.
