  Superb customer service from the onsite manager "Emily" In a day and age where reasonable humans and good service seems to be hard to come by, Emily's willingness to personally help without making even one excuse was extraordinary. Clean gym with great facilities. 5 star on-site Management.

  Horrible business practices. Tried to cancel a membership by calling in a few months before expiration to say I no longer wanted to be a member once my year commitment ran out. Was told it was taken care of. Come to find out, they are taking money out of my bank account each month, despite me calling and saying I no longer wanted to be a member. They are ripping off a single mom with a life-threatening illness. Hopefully every cent they've stolen from me helps them feel good about their shady practices. I will be telling everyone I know.

  Not only does this 24 lack an adequate amount of equipment based on its square footage but the parking options are less than desirable. What spots they do have available for members are usually occupied by the staff. So while members have to sit and wait for a parking spot or pay $2 dollars an hour and park on the street many of the staff have been parked in those spots for the entirety of their shift. The lot is supposed to be for a maximum of 2 hours. I don’t know how they schedule staff at 24 in the pearl but if the lot has a 2 hour limit and someone parks there for their entire shift that would mean they are parked double, triple or even quadruple the amount of time that a member is limited to. When my wife asked the manager (red-headed male early 40s) about employees parking in the lot he brushed it off and said “my employees get minimum wage and the lot is first come first serve”. So if you are looking for a gym that cares about their members 24 hour fitness in the pearl is not for you. The one great thing about this gym is the gentleman who does maintenance he is polite, friendly and genuine.

  This review is for the 24hour on 1407 SW Ave., downtown Portland and my trainer is Kevin Huntley. Kevin is an amazing trainer who has taken me from issues that I thought would never completely be right, to complete repair. I had a serious mountain biking accident where I had dislocated my shoulder and injured by back, so after a few years had pain and reduced mobility in spite of physical therapy, and the lower back pain was ongoing. I felt suddenly OLD. I had an even older knee injury and had resigned myself to never squatting again. When my knee swelled and I was downhill skiing, people used to ask me if I had a knee brace on and I didn't. I still downhill ski'd, and hiked, and was active, but the limitations were impacting those experiences and I could no longer keep up with my friends. After time with Kevin, due to his attention to detail, passion, knowledge, and PATIENCE, I now sometimes forget which shoulder was dislocated, I no longer ever have back pain, and I squat WITH WEIGHTS! My knee hasn't swelled for 2 years now. I feel this downtown gym is smaller and therefore more personal and friendly. The gym is always clean and employees are always friendly. I couldn't be happier with my results.

  I’d like to express my appreciation to Vanessa, a personal trainer at 24 Hour Fitness in the Pearl, for her professionalism, knowledge and attention to detail. I started my personal training sessions with Vanessa after a bike accident last year. I have used my sessions to heal, rebuild my strength and flexibility and up my 3D fitness game. Vanessa patiently guided me through the recovery process and I am grateful to be able to say I am close to my pre-accident strength, flexibility and fitness level. She developed a tailored plan, tracked my progress diligently and even developed exercises that I could do while traveling when I didn’t have access to a gym. I’d highly recommend Vanessa and the rest of the staff at 24 Hour Fitness in the Pearl to help you meet your health and fitness goals. Thank you, Mark
